Question about Cars & Trucks
Engine cuts out on my 54 plate focus c max 1.6 tdci when engine cuts out i get a loud beep and a message appears saying steering assist failure. what is this as car drives fine then problem occurs intermitantly
It would be an advisory noise telling you that the power assistance is lost when the engine stops. Run fault codes to find the reason for the engine stoppage and repair the faulty sensors.

SOURCE: focus c-max non starter
if the starter is not turning the engine, then it is either a weak or jammed starter, or a siezed engine.....tap the starter with a hammer ( lightly )...while someone tries to start the engine...if nothing happens, then its the engine.......try a spanner on the pully of the flywheel, and turn manualy by hand, if it wont turn, then the engine has siezed

I believe your oil pump is not working, Please do not start the car anymore or your engine will suffer severe engine damage, have it towed to your mechanic.
