Can an automatic trans cause a wobble under acceleration. Mount is good. No movement in steering wheel

I suppose it is possible - almost anything is possible with motor cars. Like the old saying goes; anything with tyres or testes is going to cause trouble sooner or later, however, I have never known the symptom you describe to be caused by a transmission.

I have known an unfortunate choice of tyres to cause some strange sensations. Some of the early Michelin tyres used to wobble a lot under acceleration. I have known some older tyres to sometimes feel like the wheels are walking along the road rather than rotating but that was at a fairly low speed and neutral throttle opening.

Worn driveline components are by far the most common causes of a less than smooth power delivery with worn inner drive shaft joints the top of my list for strange or unusual wobble sensations.

It is wise to go back to basics and do some serious checking before spending any money...

Vibration while accelerating Hi we have just bought a fiat punto 2007 1.3 diesel. there is a wobble to the car. the tracking is perfect when you let go of the steering wheel it goes straight for ages. had...

depending on where the vibration is from, either the tyres (could be a buckled rim, (jack it up and spin the wheel by hand and check) or it could be a drive shaft problem. It could be a bent shaft or worn knuckle. It would be better if I knew if you meant vibration or wobble and also where about in the vehicle you feel it most.

Wobble when accelerating

U NEED TO HAVE THE CV JOINTS CHECKED FOR EXCESSIVE WEAR, ALSO ROTATE THE TIRES AND SEE IF THAT HELPS, A SEPERATED TIRE CORD CAN CAUSE THIS WALLOW.
