Check with Autozone, Oreilys, or Advance autoparts and ask them to perform a starter draw test. This will verify the starter as the problem.

There are things that affect a starter. The Antitheft system in your car will reduce starter Voltage to about 7 Volts. If a weak battery or other problem is viewed as a theft attempt, the starter is not suppose to crank fast enough to start the car.

Starter needs replaced

STARTER PROBLEMS

It can be faulty starter or there is loose connection from battery to starter. The starter assembly gets power from battery. Check voltages at starter wires and see if you are getting 12 volts or not. If not then its no power issue due to low battery volt or no connection between battery to starter.

Your starter solenoid is going bad. You can either replace the soleniod on the starter or replace the entire starter assembly.

How to remove starter from toyota t100 1995 6-cyl

Remove negative battery terminal... Remove the small lead from the starter solenoid, and the large lead from the starter. remove the (usually 2) bolts holding the starter on. lower starter out the bottom. (now.. since toyota starters don't go bad)... remove the 3 screws from the end of the solenoid housing... and go to a starter rebuild shop. Buy 2 new copper contacts for the solenoid, and replace them... presto new starter for less then $20 bucks.

Possible starter going out on 95 Legacy

providing your battery cable connections are clean and tight, it is probably the solenoid (starter) thet is worn out... but check all your connections first.

1999 saturn starter. does the starter have 3 wire going to the starter or 2

Typically a starter will have twp wire going to it. One of which is the battery cable (positive lead) and the other is a smaller wire that will plug to the starter; this wire becomes powered or hot when the ignition is turned fully to the start position; this the causes the starter solenoid to engage drawing in an causing the starter to run.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom

Does a heat sheild of some type go on the starter. Seems if starter gets to hot the truck will no longer start and will have o wait for cool down before starting the vehicle again?

Sounds like the starter is going bad.1) You can fabricate a shield yourself out of tin or thin sheet metal. Make sure you do not come in contact with the positive wire going to the starter when installing. 2) you can replace the starter -recommended- then add a shield to prolong the life of your new starter.

Does not start, god battery, and starter, no power going starter

Most likely bad cell on battery with not enough amerage or the solenoid on the starter is going bad. Turn car to on and Jumper the solenoid if it starts replace starter as that part is hard to get on its own.
