Remove the driver's side front wheel and the TSS will be clearly visible on the side of the automatic transaxle. It has a 2-pin connector and a retaining bolt. You may have problems in removing it, as they commonly corrode in place. I recommend the use of your favorite penetrating fluid, then tapping the sensor to try to get it to rotate a bit to free it up, and finally use a small screwdriver to try to pry it up as you rotate it.

My Ford winstar 98 is having OD light on. Same time while I'm driving this car is slipping. I took it to trasmission specialist who took reading and out of 9 codes 5 is transmission related, but...

Try to replace the sensor yourself. Its accessable throgh the left front wheelwell, next to the axle. It is a 8mm or 10mm bolt holding the sensor in. Good luck. Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) Sensor Removal and Installation
  1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301) and positive battery cable. Refer to Section 14-01.
  1. Raise and suitably support vehicle on hoist. Refer to Section 00-02.
  1. Remove LH front tire and wheel assembly.
  1. Disconnect turbine shaft speed (TSS) sensor electrical connector.
  1. Remove one bolt and TSS from transaxle.
  1. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Tighten TSS retaining bolt to 9-12 Nm (80-106 lb-in).

The transmission works in reverse but will not work at all in drive, what can i do to fix it?

If it has been in the car since it was manufactured
and I would doubt it,you will have to pull out the
trans axle and most likely rebuild it.

Cant get the front axle out

Remove tires, brake caliper, outter tie rod end, lower ball joint.Push down with heavy pry bar(may take two people)Of course remove axle nut, push the axle out of the spindle, while pulling outward on the spindle.Be sure the ball joint stud has cleared the spindle. Then take a medium pry bar and go between the inner axle knuckle and the trans, and kind of pry,,if you will pop the axle out with the pry bar,,pop when prying, hard to explain, but kind of pop it ,it will come out.

Can't get new axles to seat into trans

After talking to a Honda mechanic, he suggested thumping with a sledgehammer and a block of wood. It only took a couple of taps and they popped right in! The car runs and feels great.
