Cracked piston like to know if i can change #5 piston with out tearing out motor

You can probably do it with the engine in the truck, but the head and oil pan have to come off.

What causes a jeep liberty to lose compression from # 1 cylinder

Let me count the ways possible:

  1. Blown head gasket
  2. Cracked head
  3. Cracked block
  4. Bent/broken/damaged valve(s)
  5. Cracked/broken piston
  6. Broken piston rings
  7. Broken connecting rod or rod pin
The only way you will know which of these is for sure the answer is to tear the engine down to find out. There is no magic fix for your problem.

Changed piston rings but now we see oil in the air filter dont know whats the problem

Oil gets past the piston rings into the combustion chamber make sure that the piston rings are not stuck

Had problem with white smoke coming from tailpipe.addad diptaine to the tank and took van for a good smoke started coming from tailpipe. thought problem was solved,few days later coloured...

Don't know what car or engine you're writing about, but I'd recommend replacing the entire engine with a good used engine. White smoke usually comes from coolant in the engine (bad head gasket or cracked block/head). Fuel additives will do nothing to correct this. Low/no compression may be a piston ring, may be a holed piston, may be broken valves. You're going to pay someone to tear down the engine and they're going to find a lot more wrong than a bad piston ring. Just get another engine.

The diaphram can tear, but when this happens it typically leaks gas into the crankcase. Is there gas in your oil? If no, recommend you take the float bowl cover off and see what's going on when you start it. Please let me know if you have more questions.

being that both of the motors bolt to a 4 speed 41te auto trany,the only thing u would have to do is change the brain box and wireing harness,and chech the weight ratio of the 2 motors if there close in weight,like 50 lbs or so than its good if its more than100 your going to have to beef up the front suspention a little.

you need to take the oil dipstick and see what color the oil is if it is milky color your piston rings are leaking or maybe main seal look on back side of motor side if real dirty oily wet also check your thermostat maybe leaking slowly on motor burning it off hope this helps where i would start

motor and computer and o ya it beter be from a vechiale with the same options and then theres the re code by the dealer for the anti theft

what im getting at so suttly is take it to the local engine builder
explain what you want to get out of the car and how wild you want it to be
a good engine guy can tear down your block do a 5 angle valve job spin the cylinders 60 - 80 thousand over size the pistons turn the crank and set you up for a full allchol motor if you want
depending on what you want it can be cheeper to rebuild and upgrade then change the motor out
hell a top end will cots arround 800-1500 depending who assembles the motor when done
remember if it's a dodge it beter sound mean

If you have no compression,You either have a bent valve,or a Hole in the piston.Or both.
