Question about Cars & Trucks
My Chevy Tracker wont turn over. Just clicks and the headlights and dash lights are dim. A new battery was installed and it still wont turn over or try to start. It also killed a new battery but if it was the alternator it should at least turn over and try to start with a new battery right. The lights gradually become brighter when the ignition is on. Not getting a click in the starter either.
Sounds like a bad connection or a bad battery cable. Are the battery cables clean and tight on both ends ?
Yes the engine should crank if the battery is charged no matter what condition the alternator is in.

Those are all symptom,s of a low system voltage condition, so you had better get a 2nd opinion on the Alternator, I strongly suggest you seek out a dealer service dept for help.
