P1448 and P0455: EVAP air leaks - Maxima Forums"Here\'s your answer:

The EVAP codes you are getting are directly related to your

\'vent control valve\'. This is VERY COMMON on this generation

Maxima. Up under yer car behind the left rear wheel is your

EVAP canister. (black plastic box) Your vent control valveis

bolted directly to this canister, with 2 screws. There should

be a vacuum line connected to it. Be sure it IS, and that it

looks like it\'s in good condition.

These valves are notorious for going bad, even more

so than the ignition coilpacks! They dont cause any

decrease in performance, but it usually decreases gas mileage,

and it will cause it to fail emissions testing. But worst of all, it

makes that MIL light on the dash flash...

It\'ll cost ya about $60 from the dealer.. have yer VIN ready..

there are 2 different ones for this generation: 1 with a nipple

and o-ring, the other with no nipple (requires separate o-ring).

Part #\'s: 14935-54u04 OR 14935-54u06

The code says "evap purge flow monitor fault"
Possible causes include ...
- EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve stuck closed.
- EVAP control system pressure sensor and its circuit.
- Loose, disconnected, or improper connection of rubber tube.
- Blocked rubber tube.
- Blocked or bent rubber tube to MAP/BARO switch solenoid valve.
- Cracked EVAP canister.
- EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve.

This is a "jackpot" code. It points to so many possible causes as to be almost useless.

I have 1998 Nissan 200sx,I have trouble the code is 'P1492' what is the causing this?

That c

That code has something to do with you EVAP system. It could be that there is a wire disconnected or correded which would normally be called a open/closed circuit. Other problem causes could be that your EVAP canister control solenoid valve or the EVAP canister itself are bad and they need to be replace.

Oil leak and a Cylinder 1 misfire.

Nothing to do with fuel chemistry

Where? and how do you replace the purge valve on a 1998 nissan maxiam

The 98 model uses a square canister located under the left rear quarter panel.
There is a canister purge control valve and a canister volume control valve, so make sure you are dealing with the right valve.
The volume control valve should be on or near the intake manifold, and the purge control valve should be near the canister.

Check engine light initially showed code for speed sensor, changed that & light came back on,now shows code 440 & 600,tried tightening gas cap & still comes on

Unfortunately the P0440 code could be a comdination of about 4 different possibilities within the EVAP System:

1. Fuel Cap loose or Not holding proper pressure causeing a leak in the EVAP System
2. EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Valve
3. EVAP Canister Purge Control Valve
4. EVAP Canister Vent Control Valve

The Vent Control Valves are common for going bad and causing leaks in the EVAP System.

Now, the P0600 Code - ECM recieving incorrect voltage from A/T control Unit Continuously.

Unfortunately, my suggestion to you would be to take the vehicle to your local Nissan Dealer where they have the appropriate scan tools to monitor the EVAP System and the Transmission control System.

Hope this helps...

My 20002 nissan maxima came up with a codepo4055 evap control leak detected new gas cap did nothing to fix problem

this fault code would indicate you have a large evap system leak.most often sets from a fuel cap not secured.since thats not the case i would bet its the vent control valve on the evap canister sticking open.evap leaks can actually be cheaper to fix if taken to a pro or dealer with bidirectional scan tool and smoke machine to pinpoint leak.the darts get fairly expensive on evap codes.if it turns out to be the valve expect about 250.0 0for diagnosis, the part and the repair. let me know how it turns out.

P1444 Flujo de purga del circuito de entrada en q parte se encuentra localizada o localizado el senso r o valvula.nissan patfinder 98 motor 3.3

I don't know any Spanish but here is the codes definition.

P1444 - Purge Flow Sensor Circuit Low Input

The EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve uses a ON/ OFF duty to control the flow rate of fuel vapor from the EVAP canister. The EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve is moved by ON/OFF pulses from the ECM. The longer the ON pulse, the greater the amount of fuel vapor that will flow through the valve.

Causes:
  • EVAP control system pressure sensor
  • EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve (The valve is stuck open.)
  • EVAP canister vent control valve
  • EVAP canister
  • Hoses (Hoses are connected incorrectly or clogged.)
