SOURCE: bonnet will not open as clip on bonnet is gone.

Depending upon how familiar you might be with the location of the under-hood release, you may be able to access it through the small opening between the hood and grill that follows opening the bonnet by pulling the lever under the steering wheel. A long narrow standard head screwdriver and a good light may be all that is required. That is exactly how the mechanic at the VW garage will release the hood latch.

If your not at all familiar with the hood latch, it might be useful to view the mechanism in another Passat so that you know how it functions. Less than a 5 minute job, but the dealer will likely charge about $65 to perform the task, substantially more to replace the broken mechanism.

SOURCE: I have a bmw320 the bonnet release handle wont

Did you try with 2 people. one guy pushes down on the hood and then pulls up after the other pulls and holds the release.
Grease the latch every so often to prevent this.

SOURCE: my hyundai 2006 bonnet

All in all ... not all that unusual. Get spray, white, lithium grease and lube the hood (ops ... bonnet) catch mechanism.and spray some liquid lubricant on the operating cable.

I think this will help you a lot if not eliminate the problem all together.

SOURCE: my hyundai 2006 bonnet does not open you have to

You need to lubricate your hood latch assembly. WD-40 works well for this. Spray some on and work the latch back and forth a few times with a screwdriver blade. Spray a little more on, and close the hood and see if it opens any better. You may have to repeat a couple times to get good results.

How to pop hood from outside of 2004 chevy trailblazer

You cannot release the bonnet from the outside.

In any case the key should open the driver's door manually. You will need to turn it either once or twice in succession. If it will not open then pull on the handle and turn the key in the lock at the same time.

Replace the bonnet latch

how to?
open hood(bonnet) and remove the latch (screws)
replace it
the adjust it . per FSM book.
if you cant open it , that is a problem. so, if the latch is cable driven
most cars we can pull side of cable (look all places for it)
do this
person one tries to lift hood
person 2 tries to pull cable.
person 3 pulls cab handle, POP!
ok its not cable driven its electric
hot wire the solenoid. find the wire to it and hot wire it.
we have to Australia cars here so our alldata.com is of no help.

How do you release the bonnet of a vauxhall vectra 04 from the outside ?

As a general rule, you don't.

However, if the inside handle is broken, sometimes you can reach up from under the front end of the vehicle and find the cable that leads to the release. IF you are lucky enough, you can pull on that cable and sometimes the hood (bonnet) will pop open.

do you know were the cable has snapped front or cab ?
cab you need to use a pair of plyers, front snapped.bit more tricky. and its going to cost you a bit more to just get to the cable and you will need to replace parts on the front.

Cant open hood

easiest thing to do is locate the cable inside the cab and have some place pressure on the bonnet as you pull, if not jack the car up and you can access the bonnet (hood) clip from inside it will be a cork screw shape more than likely and will be sitting in a hold in the centre of the beam LET THE CAR COOL DOWN before reaching up there I have done this myself with no more than a long thin screwdriver after you have it open get on to fixing it then rather than leaving it

Can you tell me how to install my release cable & handle on town & country1995

Do you mean bonnet release? If so loosen cable/wire by bonnet catch make sure it's free of any cable ties and clips, and is loose. Also inside vehicle try to remove any type of covering behind bonnet lever/handle, then undo any clips pins or nuts that hold handle in place. If you securely attach some wire or strong string to the end of the cable under the bonnet, and carefully pull it into the vehicle, disconnect old cable attach new, then pull it back into the engine compartment. Your cable should be in place ready for reattaching the lever, and bonnet catch.

Bonnet latch wont open bonnet when pulled to open it

Pull the lever/handle and then gently tap on either side of it. The issue is that you need to lubricate the locking mechanism.

Ant open bonnet

Hopefully the cable has not snapped. Have someone else lean on the bonnet a little. (Not too much or you will dent it) Try and operate the catch while they are leaning and releasing. Or sometimes dust can accumulate on the catch. Perhaps you can spray under the bonnet with a can of WD40 and hit the catch. Try the above trick again after you have sprayed it. Once you get it open find the cause before you close it again :)
