SOURCE: I cant turn the car keys in the ignition 2003

The most common cause is that the steering wheel has been turned to far one way or the other before the car was turned off. What happens is the steering wheel lock mechanism is being jammed up. The wheels want to straighten out but the lock mechanism is stopping that. The simple solution is to turn the steering wheel just enough to relieve the pressure off the lock while at the same time turning the ignition key.
If your steering wheel is not tight/jammed against the lock then your problem may be the keys. The obvious solution is to try a spare key however if you have none you may need to contact a lock smith.

If your key is whats commonly referred to as a "Chipkey" it may have been damaged some how. This would stop the ignition switch from being turned because the switch doesn't recognize the code from the key.
If it's not a Chipkey then it may just be worn out. Try moving the key in and out just a bit while you turn it.
I hope one of these helps.

SOURCE: car wont start totally dead lights and power work no radio though

Check fuse # 8 -20 amp and look for the starter relay. The fuses and relays are in a black box under the hood near battery. The lid of the box will tell you every fuse and relay. There should be a spare fuse in the box or take one from another circuit and try to start the car0996b43f8022dd2d.gif

Why is there no reistance in my ignition until after starter is engaged?

Replace the ignition assembly on the steering column. The return spring is in that module. Be sure to put your original lock cylinder back into the new assembly so you can use the same key. If you get a used one with the key cylinder in it, make sure you get the key that matches the lock. If not, switching the original lock back in is a real pain. With the correct key, you just rotate the key to the start/ignition position, push a nail/probe into the hole on top of the assembly and the lock cylinder should be able to pull out.

There is a high pitched sound coming from under my 2002 Jimmy. It seems to be originating in the vicinity of the fuel tank, catalytic converter, differential area. But I cannot isolate it. Possibles?

Fuel pump in the tank makes a high pitch sound which is normal. Turn your key in the ignition, but don't start, you should hear the high pitch sound with the pump priming the system. You will still hear it when started, it's annoying but normal. Different brands are quieter than other, I just replaced mine with a Delphi brand fuel pump which is a tad quieter than AC Delco stock pump.

Atos ignition problems and screeching

If you hear a click under the hood from the starter the starter solenoid but starter is defective and you should rebuild it. If that is not the case I would replace the ignition starter switch, this is the electrical switch the key cylinder actuates to turn on the electrical system and engage the starter.

2006 Chrysler sebring High Pitch Noise Screeching Sound

The belt is slipping or the compressor and/or clutch is bad.
If the compressor won't turn freely with the engine off, it may be locked up which will make the belt screech.

I have a 2009 CRV, and a bout once every 10 start ups when I turn the key to start the car I will hear a squirting sound, and it sounds like it is coming from the ignition. When this happens I generally...

Without hearing it I would only be guessing, however I believe starter solenoid is a good guess.
When you turn the key the first position it applies power to the vehicles ignition coil and other operational components. The second position applies power to the starter solenoid which moves the starter gear against the fly wheel so the starter motor can crank the engine to start the combustion process. If the solenoid does not move the small gear against the big gear you will hear the starter motor running with no resistance producing a high pitch whine. Some of the gears could be missing on the fly wheel but it would not start unless you physically moved the vehicle forward to manually move the fly wheel.
Therefore, I would have the starter (starter and solenoid are usually together) checked or replaced. If you have some mechanical knowledge you could do it yourself with minimal tools. I believe turning the key back is not helping you. You just need to turn off the ignition and try to start it again. Sooner or later the solenoid will fail completely and not work at all. I would not want to be stranded so I would fix it soon but it could work intermittently for a while.

Screeching noise coming from driver side tire

The high pitch sound may come from the brake pads as metal parts hit the disc to signal the owner that it needs change. The metal parts gets exposed when the pads have worn out. The brake also has a hub to cover the disc. See if the metal plate is hitting it but this issue would appear when the wheels are in motion. Check if it is the belts, have the tension checked out. Other than that the bearings are the other items on your wheel that could cause a high pitched sound when you car is in motion.

Making sound when the wheel turns sharp slowly....

check your power steering fluid level if it's low refill it and see if you still hear the noise then take it to honda and have them find and repair the leak. the brakes are screeching like that cuz you may have had to make a quick stop in the past and it glazed the pads by over heating them, it should go away but if you are concerned you can always get a brake inspection
