YOU WILL NEED A HELP.YOU NEED TO DISCONNECT BACK UP LIGHTS. REMOVE THE PUSHPINS FROM UNDERSIDE OF THE FASCIA PANEL.REMOVE THE SCREWS EACH END OF THE FASCIA PANEL TO THE WHEEL WELL. UNSCREW THE BOLTS THAT SECURE THE UPPER EDGE OF THE FASCIA TO THE BODY.THEN LIFT THE FASCIA OFF.IF YOU GOING TO REMOVE THE IMPACT BAR REMOVE THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER,FREE THE WIRING HARNESS FROM THE FROM THE TRAILER CONNECTOR RECEPTACLE.TWIST THE RECEPTACLE COUNTERCLOCKWISE. AND REMOVE IT FROM THE BODY.REMOVE TWO OF THE IMPACT BAR RETAINING BOLTS FROM EACH SIDE OF THE VECHICLE. WITH A ASSISTANT SUPPORTING THE IMPACT BAR REMOVE THE REMAINING BOLT FROM EACH SIDE.TAKE THE IMPACT BAR OFF THE VECHICLE.THIS IS NOT A EASY JOB.IF YOU HAVE DIFFICULTIES DOING THIS PROCEDURE LET BODY SHOP DO THE WORK TO KEEP FROM DAMAGING YOUR VECHICLE.

can you get it open at all? or can you get to it? it sounds like it's simply frozen. if you can get to it the simpliest thing would be to spray wd40 on the part that spreads. you'll need to give it a minute then spray it again to make sure it gets in good. now, if you can open it, do so, the spray it with the wd40, wipe if down some, work the mechanism then spray again. this should loosen and help it work . unless you've been hit and the thing was jammed somehow it should do the job. good luck & God bless,
