I have a Peugot 206 1.4 sport.cut out and won't restart.

I have a Peugot 206 1.4 sport. I was driving yesterday and engine randomly cut out and slowed quickly down to a stop, the icons on the dashboard all flashed on then off, the power steering went and central locking/lights/indicators/hazards would not work. The car could not be restarted by a battery and jump leads (the battery says full) and although the car did get started and lights etc came on this was only for about 10 secs. It then cut out again. The car then had to be towed home by the breakdown people.
Do you have any idea of what the problem could be. My Dad is very good with cars but can not find a fault. He has checked all wires etc for a loose connection but he can't seem to find anything! Any asnwers would be appreciated. Many thanks.
