Bmw fault finding

Hi i have a bmw 318i e36 it was in an accident recently it was knocked at the back by the battery i had the battery checked it was fine but the car don't want to start the ignition lights on dashboard comes on but my starter don't want to kick in to start the car please advise on what to do

you might need to get the water level sensor checked, it may be faulty

bulbs behind the gauge cluster most likely need to be replaced....

try locking and unlocking the car with the key 3 times slowly ,other than that i have no idea ?? another trick is to disconnect battery and join the cables together for a few minutes to discharge any capacitors that may be holding a charge in the computer..Only other thing i can think of is the main dealers who have the right connectors and software to re set it all .sorry i havent been of any help

dont under estimate your battery connections remove and clean and connect tightly, then check all your fuses if needed, then go from there.

Looking at the fuze box in a 1996 BMW 328i, the drivers seat adjustment fuse is #40. Where is the #40 fuze located?

Fuse box should look like the one shown on these pages:

The longer single row of fuses is #31-46 (46 is closest to the double row of fuses).

Just want to find out...does bmw 318i e36 have a timing belt or timing chain?

There are 2 engines used on the 318i. One has a chain the other a belt. The M40B18(1990-1993) uses a cam belt and the M43B18(1993-1998) a chain.

Have you checked inside the fuel tank??? most are sitting on top of the tanks... that maybe located under your rear car seat! not too sure though!...
