SOURCE: 2004 mazda rx8 immobilizer system

Only after market systems have valet over ride switches.
From what you said, the RX8 is shut down from
the factory immobilizer,
The IM05 bypass module is designed to circumvent this
but it's dependent on you having the original
programmed ignition key to do it.

Also, the system must not be damaged, or the code
lost from the keys or it won't do that.

Mazda may also need to reprogram the immobilizer code
for you to procede. Have that bit of info looked at
first.

SOURCE: I've been told my immobilizer is shot and need to

The immobilizer essentially is a relay they spliced in series between the ignition lock and starter solenoid. All you have to do is jumper these 2 wires back together again. You can test wich wire to the immobilizer is from the ignition by watching a test light probed to the contacts when someone cranks the engine. The solenid wire is easier to trace because you can follow it from the starter.

Blink Code: 41

Description: Communication Error (code does not match)
Problem:
- Wire harness or connector.
- Immobilizer or ECM is water contaminated.
- Engine Control Module.
- Transponder key computer assembly.
Solution:
- If you have replaced the key, ECM or immobilizer it needs to be programmed by a professional key maker.
- If it happened accidentally and you have the original working master key or remote, do the following.
- With ignition switch off, open the driver's door, short the pins 4 and 13 with paper clip or auto wire in Data Link Connector (16 Pin), which is located under the dash on steering wheel side.
- Leave the driver"s door open, switch ON the ignition and leave it ON for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, switch OFF the ignition, remove the jumper wire and start the engine. If the engine starts and the check engine light is ON delete the code with scan tool and the job is done.
- If it is a smart key, bring the remote facing the Toyota emblem just near the push start button to hear a sound and put the remote on passenger's seat for one minute to complete the registration process.
- If the problem persists, contact a professional key programming personnel.

You have to get a professional locksmith to make and program a key to the code of the ignition before the key will crank the engine. THIS is imperitive, otherwise it will never crank to start.

Immoboliser of city dont work

First of all you need to programm all ignition keys using suitable diagnostic equipment (VAS, VAG-Com) connected to the data link connector of the car.

You have an electronic immobilizer key recognition problem. Now your key chip is not recognized by the transponder antenna fitted on the ignition switch barrel.

  • Everytime when you had a new key you must programm all available ignition car keys before trying to start the engine with this new key !!!

  • You have an electronic immobilizer key recognition problem. Your key chip is not recognized by the transponder antenna fitted on the ignition switch barrel. Do you have this warning symbol lightning on the dashboard?

    This warning lamp indicates that the engine is locked by the immobilizer system, and the engine start sequence must be repeat again.

    From year 1995 in Audi-VW (VAG) cars is used engine immobilizer. The VAG group immobilizer system consists of an immobilizer ECU which controls the recognition of keys and the Engine Management ECU system. Immobilizer is activated when the ignition key is removed and, together with the engine control unit, largely prevents unauthorized starting of the engine. The system uses a transmitter and receiver unit in the ignition key (transponder). Whenever an attempt is made to start the engine, it transmits a new code to the car's electronics. The immobilizing is only cancelled and car motor electronic receives permission to start engine if the key sends a right authorization code.

    Use another ignition key that you have, and start the engine.

    You will need to programm all ignition keys using suitable diagnostic equipment (VAS, VAG-Com) connected to the data link connector of the car.

    Engine won't turn over

    Hi,

    I would interpret your post of "engine won't turn over" as it would not crank. Basically, cranking is accomplished with the starter motor, however, there are other components that could likewise affect the cranking:
    • battery, battery terminals, battery connector, battery ground to engine;
    • starter motor, bendix, starter relay;
    • ignition switch, ignition wiring/harness/connectors.
    In some instances, failure to crank could also be caused by:
    • immobilizer/alarm system;
    • automatic transmission not in park or neutral or gear position switch/sensor misaligned/malfunctioning.
    Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls check above itemized parts, post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

    Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
