SOURCE: 2003 mercury marauder.........where's the fuel

The fuel pump is in the back were the tank is,trace the fuel line from motor to the tank, now the pump may be on top of tank, and it may be elec.So first turn key and see if you can hear the pump.now if you beleve the fuel is gelled, try moving the car back and forth,to hear the fuel in tank, you may want to try some high-octane boost,or see if you can get some racing fuel about 100+ and mix with regular fuel.good luck

It's 2003 mercury sable 3.0 how do i check fuel pressure

I'm not familiar with your car, but I use a kit like this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Fuel-Injection-Pressure-Test-System-Kit-Testing-Compression-Car-Tool-Set-/371318759965?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item567452a21d

If you don't need an actual reading a quick undo and redo of one of the fuel line connections can tell you as when under pressure the fuel will start coming out. Obviously this needs lots of precauction as there will be fuel spillage, so take care, especially if engine hot and that's where your working.

Easy way of this check is at the filter. Loosen the bolt a bit, turn car on, but don't start it. Fuel should leak from the loose connection for a few seconds whilst the pump primes then should pretty much stop. If it leaks like this, you have pressure, just don't know how much. Obviously remember to tighten the bolt back to spec and clean up any spillage before starting the car - major fire hazzard if you don't!

Stay safe

2004 mercury marauder. Y wont the fuel pump kick on???

Could be that the Inertia switch has cut it off. Check Websites with the term "2004 mercury marauder inertia switch" then add location to the search if the first search only generates parts.

This is a safety device and is a part which cn be in different locations depending on the year.

In addition to the Inertia switch, a fuel pump relay or a crankshaft sensor can do the same thing.

My 2003 mercury marauder 4.6 I've changed spark plugs, coils, and fuel injectors, crank sensor, timing sensor and my car when starts their is a lot of white smoke when I touch the gas also gas is coming...

Running way rich (to much fuel) Have you had the MAF sensor checked? I would also check to see if the fuel pressure regulator is operating correctly, if it's "stuck" then your pressure is way to high and that would also lead to running rich. Is the return line from the fuel rail to the gas tank open? If that's blocked/ kinked or otherwise restricting fuel flow that could give you a to rich running condition. Don't forget about the o2 sensors, but sounds like your not even getting into closed loop yet. post more details if you can

Engine code p191 2003 mercury sable 3.0

P0191 is fuel rail pressure sensor or circuit low input. This indicates that fuel pressure is too low or the sensor is faulty or the circuit is at fault The fuel pressure should be tested to see if it is spec.and circuit test preformed the location of this sensor and testing needed to make an accurate repair requires some degree of skill and someone that is comfortable doing this type of diagnostic repair

Diagram of fuse box

The fan motor is controlled and protected by a relay/breaker. It is located under the hood, in a plastic cover, with the other relays. It will be labeled either next to the relay or on the inside of the cover.

Check engine light---scan for the fault codes. Go to your mechanic, or your local auto parts superstore. Most stores do it for free.
