SOURCE: OBD II Problem

the code refers to the crankshaft and camshaft sensors, the crank sensor has a higher failure rate, but usually the engine will not start or run when it does. the camshaft sensor can fail and the engine will still run. I would check the connections to each sensor for damage or corrosion, the system has lost signal from one of them, if you check them with an OHM meter they should not measure open

SOURCE: 1998 chrysler concorde, what does interm loss of

It means that intermittently you are losing the signal from your camshaft position sensor (CMP) And you are also losing the the crankshaft position signal sensor (CKP). these are magnetic or hall effect sensors that go out sometimes and are necessary or you could have a poorly running vehicle or it may not run at all. hope this helps you out!!!

Location of crank sensor

no symptoms??? why not post that first.???
front bottom of engine. at crank pulley.
http://www.fixkick.com/my96-16v/ckp-sensor.jpg

its on the bottom of the oil pump, 1st year for CKP sensor.
the car will run with it unplugged.
the ecu can be scanned with any scan tool
crank for 5 seconds, release key if no DTC errors for CMP or CKP
then they are good. simple huh?

no spark.
http://www.fixkick.com/IGN_timing/no-spark.html

the ckp allows the newer engine to run OBD2 misfire monitor
its not need to start engine.
the CMP starts the engine. not CKP.
CMP is in the DIZZY base.
