Question about Chevrolet Tracker
I have an 03 tracker 4wd, just had a spin out on black ice but did not hit anything. the car shut off and I cant get it started again. the battery is 1 month old, connections are clean and tight. I have power but it wont turn over
CHECK THE KEY WIRE LUG THAT GOES TO STARTER MOTOR. MAY BE IT CAME LOOSE FROM STARTER MOTOR. OR ELSE IF ITS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MAKE SURE SHIFT LEVER IS IN PARK OR NEUTRAL

Check that the ignition fusible link is intact. There may be an inertia switch that has shut down as it would recognise the spin out as an accident. Check with a service centre of an accredited auto electrician

SOURCE: H2 Hummer
Today 11-12-08 my 2003 H2 Hummer would not start. Checked battery it ischarged. Cables tight. Tried to start with portable booster pak. No go. Tridto jump start with my wife's Suburban. Still no go.
When I turn the switch I hear a single click and that is it. No engine turning over. While trying to start with key the headlights go out. Out of ideas, Will take to Chevy garage in am. Will post solution.

not sure about the 2008 model, but the earlier ones had coil pack problems. it looks like part of the rocker cover with around four torque screws holding it down and one multi plug at the end on the n/s of the engine. oh they used to blow the fuse at the same time for the engine management. 30amp dooor pillar/"A"post area.
test by removing the coil pack, fitting the spark plugs into the plug outlets. earth the body of each plug and crank the engine, you shoukld see a spark, if not then there are other tests before confirming the coil pack. let me know how you get on.

Just try to keep the gas and drive for at leat 15 min HWY if possible. Yes, it will turn off if you let go the gas, but it will restart and stay on as long as you press on gas. Just keep on driving and the computer will readjust the emission inputs and will get back to normal.
