Question about 2006 Cadillac SRX V8

Open Question

Rpm fluctuates on 2006 cadillac srx v8. Why?

The rpm fluctuates causing the car to feel like it has a mis in the engine. I put the highest grade gasoline because the problem is intermittent and I thought ther might be water in the gas. I didn't help. any ideas?

SOURCE: I can not find the oil pan plug on my srx 2006

it is on the passenger side of the pan, if you cannot find it, you are probably looking at the trans pan, the oil pan will not look like a normal pan, it will be square and aluminum with all kinds of diamond looking deep etches in it.

SOURCE: Replacing front turn signal bulb on 2006 Cadillac SRX

wow i feel sorry for you because Cadillac designed this bulb to be a don't get to bulb but OK here's what you do take the bottom cover off or skid plastic panel under neath the front end theirs little plastic clips holding it on just get come dikes and don't cut them but just use it to help pull them out. after you get that off use a flash light and locate your light housing you should see two screws holding the house in i think those screws are 8mm i cant remember remove those two screws and be careful the metal from the bumper cuts you pull the light housing out and remove all the screws around the housing and open the housing up replace the bulb and make sure your contact to the bulbs clean and then reassemble the way you took apart. if you cant get it well then best bet is take it somewhere i know Cadillac charges an arm and a leg so you can go somewhere else.

SOURCE: engine lite on 2006 cadillac srx

If the check engine light is on, then I suggest taking the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for codes stored. Most parts stores will do the scan for free. The check engine light comes on to alert you that the computer has noted a fault in one of the car's systems and getting the codes will show what the computer identified so that appropriate corrective action can be taken. Hope this helped and best wishes.

SOURCE: My Cadillac deville keeps popping codes p0171 and

You don't have MAF codes

Are you not aware you start with & diagnose
& resolved all code related issues first?

I don't see how you could change a MAF as you
won't know how to test it

PO-171 System too lean (Bank 1)
PO -174 System too lean (Bank 2)

That sounds like a vacuum leak that effects
both sides of motor

The front O2 Sensors get replaced at 100,000 miles

If that was done don't do them again unless they fail

80% of O2 Codes are vacuum leaks that lean out
the fuel mix. The Sensors are just reporting what they
see. It is up to a mechanic to find out why

When they report lean then the ecm adds fuel by
increasing injector pulse width thus bad gas mileage

I suggest buying a $50.00 code reader & study OBD2
Systems on the internet.

I have a cadillac 2004 srx v8.ideal rpm some time very high some time very low.to clear this problem i have changed plug and airfilter.unfortunatily condition is same.any body can help

look for a vacuum leak, if you have a check engine light it will probably point to the Idle Air Control, or possible the throttle position sensor.

How to replace fule injectors on 2006 srx

You use the fuel grade recommended for your car

Higher Octane just has a delayed combustion time & costs more

Seafoam just takes your money as well

Do you see those items listed in any GM manual,NO

You have a check light on,you have had 32 years to get
up to speed & check for codes,do that, then go to a repair shop

You don't even know if your engine has any deposits, your speculating& trying to save money or fail to do what is necessary to work on your own vehicles

My cadillac srx gears, what the number 4? what is that?

'4' is regular drive, that is it is a 1;1 ratio, engine rpm's to axle revolutions

-5 and 6 are overdrive gears which means that the axle turns slower relative to engine revolutions. For performance, and around town driving, '4' is probably best (not necessarily for economy, but certainly for performance).

Where is oil drain plug on 2005 V8 SRX caddilac

crawl under the car with a drain contaner and a cresent wrench. Under the engine is the oil pan. The drain plug is located on the bottom end or slightly above on the side. It may be covered in dirt so scrap around. It has to be there. No other place for the oil to come out. It is possable it is a plug type with a large allen wrench hole or a squar hole that a ratchet will fit in to but most of them it is a bolt type. Don't forget to change the oil filter when changing oil. Let me know if this helps, The Raz
