SOURCE: BLEEDING REAR BRAKES CAN BLEED ONCE THEN SECOND

Sounds like a problem with the proportioning valve. Try not to push the pedal down to far when bleeding. The valve sounds like it is getting stuck closed, and takes a little bit to release and allow fluid to pass again.

Why were the brake lines replaced?

Sounds like the mastercylinder may have run dry. You have to bench bleed the master and then DO NOT allow fluid to run low, while bleeding brakes...

if master cylinder runs low on fluid and air gets in, almost impossible to bleed with out releasing the lines and bleed master it self.

I have replaced 3 disc brake calipers on my 2001 pt cruiser. after bleeding all 4 brakes 3 times, I started the car and brake pedal goes to floor. is my brake booster shot?

Michael:

You must start bleeding the brakes at the wheel farthest from the master cylinder (usually the right rear), then the next farthest from the master cylinder, then the next, then the closest. If your master cylinder is at the left front of the car, start with the right rear, then the left rear, then the right front, then the left front. If you don't bleed the brakes in the correct order, you are just shifting the air in the lines from one line to another. Make sure that you close the bleeder before letting the brake pedal up, and the engine should not be running when you bleed the brakes... Make sure that the emergency brake is off. Make sure that the master cylinder does not run out of brake fluid at any time that you are bleeding the brakes.

Brakes went out, master cylinder is dry. filled the master cylinder pumped brakes and bled rear drivers side

If there is a substantial fluid eruption, there are air bubbles still trapped in the system. You must repeat the bleeding procedure to remove that air. A modest disturbance in the fluid returning to the reservoir indicates a properly bled brakesystem.

I have a ford escort xr3i 1988 i have replaced the brake master cylinder, bleed the brakes but still have no brakes what could be wrong?

Your car has a diagonally split brake system. Each side of this system must be bled as an individual system, and there is a correct bleeding sequence to be followed. First bleed the right rear brake, second, bleed the left front brake, then follow with the left rear brake and lastly, bleed the right front brake. Here's a link on a repair guide for bleeding your brakes. Hi there,Could give me idea on costings for replacing brake pipes on a toyota hiace? cheers

you can guess approximately the time you think it may take and add to it as sometimes there are problems. I would think about 1.5 hours to replace one line including bleeding the system.

In brake system of hiace, what is the purpose of Frame valve? and how is it work?

frame,
not saying exact stop or a photo , invites scads of wrong guesses.
here is my useless wild guess
its in the rear brakes, not started.
its the rear brake balance valve, see the arm and link to frame
that measures height of frame, and thus load in cargo, and thus
more load more brake action to rear?
that?

Brake pedal pressure low after replacing and bleeding rear brakes

i dont know what this car is but it sounds like you need to adjust the rear brakes and also there may be air still in the sytem, there are many cars that cross brake systems so if you are working on the left rear wheel you would also need to bleed the right front wheel, heres what i would do make sure to fill the brake fluid and always keep an eye on the level as you are bleeding the brakes, start at the right rear wheel and bleed it a few times then move to the left rear wheel, bleed that then go to the right front and bleed that one and last is the left front and that should solve ant air in the system problem, also make sure there are no leaks in any of the brake lines. good day.

After putting on new calipers on both sides of my dodge ram 2005 1500 and bled brakes I have no brakes. What is the problem they worked fine until I did the caliper and brake

Did you bleed rear brakes also? Should do all 4 whenever bleeding brakes starting w/ right rear, left rear, right front then left front. Sounds like air in lines.

I am having a problem bleading my 2000 grand pris brakes. check all the brake line no leaks but when i bleed the brabe pedal coes to the floor. i have also bleeb frunt to rear and rear to frunt.

This is a two person job. You have one push the brake pedal to the floor and hold it there. Then the other opens the bleed valve until brake fluid comes out. Close the bleed valve and have the other person release the brake pedal. Repeat. Continue doing this on each brake bleed valve until there is no more air coming out of the lines at each bleed valve just a solid stream of fluid. Fill master reservoir back up with brake fluid as needed through the process. You bleed from farthest to closest meaning from rear to front.

92 dodge van rear ABS-brake and ABS lights on/can't reset?

Its probably how your bleeding your brakes, but first make sure the bleeding nipples are facing upward. You should bleed diagonaly, front pass wheel then rear driver wheel. Then front driver wheel and rear pass wheel. The abs light has its own computer your have to get it scanned to clear the codes and turn off the light
