What the hell is a panic button

Hi Martin Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair

Martin, the panic button on your key fob is only used to find your vehicle should you forget where you parked it and panic because you may have to call a cab. When you hit the panic button it will continually sound your horn until you hit the button again. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair website and check out my satisfied customer testimonials. http://www.bigasautorepair.com/

Why would the anti-theft alarm go off?

Factory alarms rarely false alert, maybe someone did tamper with the car and ran off before you saw him. The one thing that will often trip alarms is a bad battery in the car, have it tested. Your car may have an add-on alarm in which case anything goofy can happen. It's odd that you had to hit the panic button to shut the alarm off, but if it functions normally otherwise it's unlikely to need a new battery. Is it at all possible that you hit the panic button and that caused the alarm to sound? If it was in your purse or pocket maybe it got pressed in which case it might be normal for you to have to hit panic again to turn it off.

Can panic button stop car from starting?

If you set your panic button off it will use juice from your battery to sound the horn and lights if you don't realize it is going off over a period of time it will drain your battery causing the car not to start

I hit the panic button, now my ac, windows, and turn signals stopped working

I did not hit the panic button on my vehicle, but my ac, windows and turn signals stopped working all together. You need a new alternator. And more joyful news, you might need a new battery as well. I had a Rodeo. It was wonderful. I shuttled my kids and husband around in it.
