Can be many ways.
get it clean and find it
or use UV dye kit and find it.

Valve cover gasket.
some versions (engines) have a Dizzy, it can leak.
no engine option stated? so can not be specific.
there are not that many gaskets in a water cooled engine, for oil.
3 or 4 seals, crank and cams.
pan gasket
valve cover gaskets love to leak because it is ignored.
and some 0-rings on some engines.
ive seen heads replaces and the mech didnt read the sealant steps
in the FSM for cam caps. etc.
do you have and A/T or M/T transmission?????????????
the A/T leaks, red ATF fluid, is it red?
the M/T can leak 90w, gear oil, is it very think and stinky"
the engine oil will match the dip stick oil, at tip does it?
and smell the same, (smell, look, and feel) use all 3 to discover
what it is.

why not ask any mech to find it, he can fast.
or learn to ID the oil type first.
and learn how to find leaks, (look)

If leak is from top at rear my bet would be that valve cover gaskets are leaking. They are not too hard to change. Good Luck

SOURCE: I am looking to buy

Could be quite costly. Especially the rear main seal on the engine. You have to take the trans out to even get to it. I would look for something else with less problems to buy.

You need to have your seal replaced. I would recommend installing new bearing while you're at it. Check here:

most ikely a valve cover gasket. have it checked by the dealer asap otherwise it's possible a fire may start if the oil gets on the manifold or exhaust.

2003 dodge Intrepid 2.7l oil leak above rear main seal after running 20 minutes

rear main seal usually only leaks when the car is running. though oil will slowy drip off afterwards. now the best way to tell is to remove the heat sheild that covers the flywheel and look at it and at the flywheel . is the oil only on the engine side of the cover or is it inside the cover and on the fly wheel. the rear main seal will leak into the bellhousing and on the fly wheel the oil pan gasket will leak on the front of the heat sheild.

2002 tahoe back of motor oil leak, already changed rear main

If you have oil running down the side of the block (from above the oil pan) check the lower edge of the valve cover. Those gaskets often fail to seal when the fasteners eventually work themselves loose

Check the fasteners that secure the valve cover to the heads. Torque to 3 ft lbs.

If the leak persists... replace the gasket.

Oil leak front engine timing chan

1995 Tracker would have a timing BELT. Normal oil leak points (in order) on a Suzuki G16 engine are the distributor base (rear of motor), valve cover (top of motor), front main seal (behind lower timing belt cog) cam seal (behind the upper timing belt cog) and rear main seal. (behind the flywheel). I'd suspect the front main seal or cam seal. I use foot power to help find oil leaks.

Oil leaks under a 1997 super saloon automatic . leaks below bell housing

Could be a couple of possibilities that you'll have to get into looking for. Rear oil pan seal, rear main seal or occasionally rear intake seal will leak down back side of engine. Wipe down motor or spray w/brake clean and watch for leak.

Oil leak in a 98 plymouth breeze 2.0

I've had a 1990 Acclaim, a 1990 Shadow, and a 1998 Breeze, all have a head gasket leak. The Breeze was the only one to have oil leak and it was on the rear of the engine. I'd guess that's your problem.

Missing 2 cylinders, no heat, oil leak. 300zx HELP ME PLEASE

If you have no heat at all and its smoking white out the tail pipes then you have a blown headgasket. That is why you aren't running on 2 cylinders.

Check you coolant level to see if you have a blown head gasket. The tick is from not having enough oil in the engine. Oil always leaks from these but not too often its the rear main, just depends.

Does it smoke white out the tail pipes?
