EGR valve would be located on the water outlet thats bolted to the drive side of the cylinder head. If you follow the upper radiator hose it will lead you to the water outlet and the EGR will be in the following spot.

SOURCE: Put in new stereo in 2001 Pontiac Sunfire now have no panel

Did you use a special wire harness? GM connected some computer system wiring with the stereo system, so if you replace this, there will be no chime when you open your door with the headlights on or keys in the ignition...and some other warning stuff. This special harness can be bought, but it is expensive (around 80-150$). Go to electronics store and ask for one. Anyways, hope this helps.

SOURCE: A/C Orifice Tube on Sunfire

Hello lindabg68: My name is Roger and I can answer your question for you. First make sure the system has no pressure. Locate the high side refrigerant line that comes up from the bottom of the condenser. Not the top line. Remove the bolt holding the line together. You should see the orifice tube in the long side of this tube. Please rate the quality of your answer. This is how we know you received the correct information. Should you need more help please just ask. Thank You for using FixYa. Roger

SOURCE: check automatic transmission fluid 2001 pontiac sunfire

You need to raise the vehicle and start it. Remove the plug near where the passenger side driveshaft comes out. The head of the plug is 7/16. Trans fluid will stream out of the hole when the engine is running when the transmission is full, If fluid doesn't run out, fill the trans until fluid runs out. The fill cap is red and it is on top under and around the air cleaner box. If you need more help let me know.

run fault codes to start with as the fuel system issues may be EGR/ PCV/ canister purge valve and solenoid related . I would think that if the immobiliser had a say in it then you would be stopped 2 years ago and not have had the problem for that length of time

2001 pontiac sunfire hard cold start

Could be a faulty idle air control valve. The computer controls idle speed by how much air gets into the intake thru the valve.
I am assuming the check engine light is not on.

Track light comes on

This problem is very common. Shops charge alot for a simple fix in most cases. The most common cause of this problem is your EGR valve which regulates the gas and air mixture. Hope this helps.

EGR on a 2001 Pontiac Aztek

The location of the EGR valve makes its replacement tough. There are many surrounding parts that have to be removed. You need to remove the transaxle dipstick and tube assembly. The EGR valve is attached to it and in order to take it off, you have to remove the air box so that you can reach the bottom of the dipstick tube, which is behind the engine. I think you'll find it difficult to replace the EGR valve on your own.

Missing, stalling Pontiac Sunfire

The OBD II code for P0400 is Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Malfunction.
I'm sure the only thing you have left is you may have to replace the EGR valve or check for any leak from the vaccum lines going to to EGR valve.
