Hi! I had the same problem with my 88 2.8 Ltr. Had dirty fuel Injectors. Put in fuel Inj. cleaner in gas tank, after a couple of days, runs like a dream,no more problems. Give it a try. Take care,Leo B. Flushme@shaw.ca

Check MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR , try to get a used one and fit to the car , it is very easy to install. And by the way the MASS is the part that is in connection with the air filter , the one that has an electrical connector. When installing make sure that it is tight and no leaks. This answer was based on your description and code supplied hope this would help

I disagree with changing the MAF sensor. I had the same problem for about 4 years until today on my 2000 s10 4.3 4wd 125K. It runs like new, and all i did was paid 6 bucks for a can of mass air flow sensor cleaner from auto zone. Try this!! it was awesome the results
