1998 mustang cobra runs good cold but as soon as it hits running temp it runs a little rough with loss of power

Runs rough as soon as it hit operating temp. Have changed plugs ,wires, Cleaned maf and throttle body No CEL or codes New TPS

Check your fuel pressure and your fuel filter . Also check your pids.
which the most important one is your short term fuel trim while it's running ,it will be either rich or lean . I know it sounds silly but when the numbers are positive it's lean and when there negative it's running rich.

SOURCE: bad stumble on acceleration pops through t- body.

Sounds like the fuel pressure regulator. Could also be that the timing jumped. But I'm leaning towards the pressure regulator. Hope that I could help. Best wishes.

There is a large vac line coming straight down from the throttle body that goes to the PCV system. See if it has a hole in it. It is likely sucking air.

You might want to pull the coils and ignition control module. They are really easy to get to on this car, right on the front of the block. Ignition control modules can be tested electronically at most chain parts stores. Coil can be a bit more of a pain. Quite honestly it's very rare that any that I test, even the ones that I know are bad, test bad. Sometimes the coil windings spoil out and when they get hot they swell and no longer produce spark.

Is this a problem only in idle? Is it drivable and if so what happens then?

84 mustang 5.0 auto-Idle problems. runs Ok when cold , runs rough and stalls when warm. 1st year throttle body injection. was told the IAC valve needs cleaned. can`t find on car


the iac sensor is along the side of throttle body , did you give the throttle plate area a good cleaning out this is where the air path is for the IAC sensor , a lot of idle problems have been fixed with a can of throttle body cleaner and few good squirts of the stuff down the hole

ever tune it up. sparkplugs can fail when cold and rich conditions
are present(normal for cold)
ever seen the 60k service points lists it the glove box operating manual
id bet its due to not doing service.
am i right?

no, the spark plug wires are arching out. that means that the plug wires are bad and need changed. if good you will not see them arching in day or night. when changing wires, check the plugs also! good-day !

Had another mechanic look at it ,As of now we are told there is a fuel rail leaking,I assume this runs fuel to the Injectors. Heres hoping this will take care of it.mm.
