Driving with the emergency brake on cant cause what your describing... you could only where down your shoes and/or pads. BUT check the vac line that powers the power brakes... it is a large one by the master cylinder.

SOURCE: emergency brake light and battery light coming on while driving

My first suspicion would be to have the charging system checked. This is a typical symptom of a pending charging system failure.

SOURCE: emergency brake light and battery light coming on while driving

Check your alternator, if you recently had it replaced - make sure that the one you got is correct, if your working on your own.. take a volt meter, set it to dc volts and measure across the battery while the car is running, generally you see around 14 volts, 12+ volts from the battery always and the alternator adds around 2 while running - the weird smell you smell if it smells like a dying rat, it would sound like you will need an alternator - as for your brakes, I'd start by checking the parking brake lever - back to your battery light, make sure all connectors are good on the alternator and also if your alternator does measure 14 volts, turn on all acessories - wipers headlights, radio, blower, rear defogger - this will generate what we call a load, if you then go to your battery you should see the battery voltage not drop below around 13.5 if it does, you probably need an alternator because it's failing to meet the demands of your car. though the lights come on together, it doesn't necessarily mean their in the same circuit - I had the exact same problem with a nissan altima of that year, that came into the shop... all its bulbs were burnt out and it kept having that happen, then other times it was just fine! give that a try, if that doesn't work send me an email at senaelen@hotmail.com I'd be glad to give you advice! SOURCE: Nissan Altima 2000 - Engine oil leaking problem.

replace the front oil seal. first i would clean the engine with purple power (degrease etc.) then look at the engine and make sure the leak is not coming from above like possibly the valve cover gasket or from the oil sending unit. try to tighten the bolts on the valve cover and even the oil pan. you never know, you may get lucky. i don't know where you are but front seals are cheap but the labor on the job is what costs you.

SOURCE: dashboard warning brake light stays on continuosly nissan altima

Try this, Since you are applying the hand brake. Manually pull up on the emergency pedal and see if the light goes out. If this does work then you could have one of several problems. but, I am thinking that you might be able to adjust the brake tensioner if this car has one.

2014 Nissan Altima starts up fine but when you put it in drive it shuts off. Put it on the scanner and it read codes p0102 and p0112

This sounds more like a leak in the air intake system rather then what those 2 codes specify. Make sure all the intake tubes are securely tightened and all vacuum lines are crack free. Also make sure the air resonator box is securely tightened.

What do you think the problem is when your 99 Nissan altima is not leaking from radiator but when you drive it starts hissing like a snake and it cuts off...?

Sounds like a major vacuum leak. Is the air intake hose attached from the air filter to the throttle assembly and is tight

Surging idle 2003 nissan altima s

I think you have an air leak, a vacuum line loose, or possible intake manifold gasket leaking, maybe your big air intake hose is leaking. spray carb cleaner or soapy water around mating surface of intake and on vacuum lines and connections. If idle changes, there is your leak. good luck.

As soon as we turn the engine over u hear a whistle noise then after 10 seconds then engine dies

Sounds like a large vacuum leak, and from the whistling you described, it's possibly the brake booster.

My Nissan Altima 97's Emergency brake light and battery light coming on while driving this afternoon. But I didn't feel any other abnormal things. I cleaned the battery cable connection with W-40 and...

Battery light means the alternator is not charging so if you keep driving it eventually the battery will die. The brake light may be on if the emergency brake lever is pulled even a little bit.

2002 altima idling too high check engine light on

The first and easiest thing you should do or have someone do, is check under the hood for a vacuum leak, possibly coming from a cracked or broken hose. Check and inspect all rubber hoses, including the large ribbed hose running to the throttle body (Engine air intake from the air filter box). You can hear a leak if it is loud enough and will sound like a hiss. Your engine is idling high because of a vacuum leak.

I have a Nissan Altima 99 than spend a lot of gas wath I can do ?

Dirty air filter

Dirty injectors + o-rings

Vacuum leak at intake manifold and vacuum hose.

Bad Idle Air Control Motor (IAC)

Low compression (170 psi + is OK)

Start cleaning and repair these trouble spots and see is there any improvement.

====

For more advance DIY'er then you may try this.

Use a can of Berryman carburetor clean to locate the vacuum leak.

SEE SAMPLE PICTURE HERE

This is a 20-30 minutes job.

Vacuum leaks can occur in following locations.

Intake manifold AND/OR vacuum lines.

Intake manifold is not accessible unless the engine head if off.

You can still check the potential leak by spraying some Berryman near the intake manifold.

Listen for rpm increase after you introduce the Berryman (FUEL) at idle.

Do the same starting from the brake booster unit (the round unit) on the drive side fire all.

Carefully listen for increase of RPM right after to spray the Berryman to the potential vacuum spot.

Get a friend to HEAR the RPM increase or monitor for RPM on the tech.

DO NOT AIM the Berryman into any heat source.

97 Altima dashboard brake light stays on

Check your brake fluid level in the engine compartment. Its located on the rear RH side of the engine compartment, its a white/clear resevoir connecting to a large black circular object. If the fluid is low, fill to proper level, also I would recommend having your brake system checked as there may be a leak. If the fluid is fine and at the proper level, you may have a damaged/broken brake fluid level sensor or damaged/broken Emergency brake switch. Hopefully this helps....please rate thanks!!
