HOLD light flashing

Hold light started flashing soon after the car hit a rock wit the transmission cover which developed a small hole dropping the ATF. After a couple of minutes the gear shifting started errors that it seems to be jumping the gears. we have fixed the hole after removing the cover and changed the ATF but still the problem persists. help me please this is the only and first car to own which is helping me in doing business.

Automatic transmissions are incredibly complex machines! I do NOT recommend diagnosing problems yourself! The best I can suggest, is to try selecting gears manually; Low 1,2,3,neutral, reverse, park. If the car has a selection for overdrive (a D in a circle) avoid that one.

also be certain you have the correct amount of atf in the transmission as too little will cause the transmission to slip.

SOURCE: transmission will shift, but car won't move.

there is a linkage inside the transmission that came off or lose so you might have to take it to a mechanic to get in there and repair so do not start car no more and you might have to have the car towed to a mechanic to look at it.

1994 chev. diesel 4x4 clutch replacement how to

First lift truck high enough so when transmission comes down you can get it out from under truck disconnect both negative cables remove rear and front drive shafts disconnect linkage to transfer case there are 6 bolts around transfer case adapter plate that come out to remove transfer case some models the lower bolt is blocked by the mount if so support transmission and remove cross member once transfer case is out of the way. celebrate with a quick beer. Now comes the hard part lower down and remove shifter tower usually four bolts if part of top cover then remove floor cover and boot press down on center cap and turn CCW to remove spring cover shifter will come out. remove bolts that hold rock cover on front of bell housing remove slave cylinder then remove the 6 bolts that hold bell housing to engine. slowly pull transmission back to separate form engine. once out high five your helper. remove the 6 bolts or 8 bolts that hold pressure plate to flywheel and now both plate and disc are off. Inspect flywheel for burnt spots any have flywheel resurfaced . replace pilot bearing ( needle) bearing type requires a blind hole puller. bronze bushing types thread a tap into back off crankshaft as it cuts threads and bottoms out it will remove the bushing. Most clutches come with a alignment tool. Install new pilot bearing apply a small amount of grease. Using the alignment tool to hold disc then install pressure plate THIS PART IS IMPORTANT slowly cinch down the bolts with a 1/4 inch nut driver by hand by cross tightening cover if you dont do this clutch will chatter because you bent the cover once close enough use a ratchet and 1/4 quarter turn until tight TAKE YOUR TIME DO THIS ONCE. Now tighten bolts to a torque of 30-35 ft lbs. I forgot dont let the alignment tool sag as you tighten up cover make sure this tools slides in and out easily once done replace release bearing and inspecting transmission front collar for wear if bad replace collar release bearing has a groove inside of it make sure that it is full of grease. apply a thin coat very thin to shaft. remove the beer cans from under truck and install in reverse order . good luck if this is your first clutch it will take a weekend.

Flashing hold and engine light on

When the Check Engine light (or Service Engine Soon or small picture of an engine) is turned on, the systems computer control unit (called the PCM) has sensed a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system. When this happens you will seldom feel the car engine run any different. There are about 200 possible system faults (the gas cap is just one of them) that turn the Check Engine light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test

My hold button flashes and seems like the car drags i have a 93 mazda mx6 what could be the problem

the hold light flashing is just like a check engine light but for the transmission. If your hold light is flashing it sounds like a selanoid went bad and your clutchs inside your transmission is coming apart.

check the vacuum lines on the engine.sometimes these will crack or develop a small hole or break and it will **** too much air in the engine causing it to act that way.

Speedometer and odometer just stopped working, hold button on dash flashing.

Either the vehicle speed sensor on the transmission has failed or something has broken in the instrument cluster

But before this check the fuse box.

HOLD LIGHT
We unhooked the battery and left it unhooked all night. This morning when he reconnected it and started it, it started right up and the hold light and our check engine light went off. We did press the hold button and it came on and went back off when we hit it again. if that doesn't fix

Most auto parts stores Advance/ Autozone etc will get the diagnostics codes from cars computer and tell you why the light is on and what the problem is if there is a problem.

Thanks
Hope this will answer helps

No passing gear

My car did (past tense) the same thing. The service engine light is flashing until you let off the gas because raw fuel is being dumped into the catalytic converter. The transmission won't shift because the converter is plugged. When you push the pedal to the floor the transmission computer holds the transmission in gear. Meanwhile the engine computer is raising the rpms. It will seem like a transmission problem but it is more likely a plugged catalytic converter. I had converter changed. The engine has A LOT more power, great acceleration and the transmission shifts perfectly.
