Question about 2007 Pontiac G6
The wipers on a previous vehicle of mine stopped working due to the bolts loosening. the g6 seems to have a gear type fitting at the pivot point. I know this is a common problem during the winter time. If it is the base/pivot area, is it easily done for someone whe has worked on cars before. Or is there a chance I may make things worse. Do you know the name of the part that connects the wiper base to the bolt that rotates? Just in case we have to order the parts. Thanks for any help you can offer!

My thought would be to look at an online parts book, there are many, rockauto.com is one. Type in year--make--model, click on the link for wipers.
Look at the parts. I already did, I saw wiper motor-- wiper transmission linkages, I saw some linkage bushings.
As far as breaking the parts down further, I didn't see anything. W/o being able to look at your wipers, I can't tell much.
The wiper transmission linkages cost about 65 bucks, doesn't include shipping and handling.
Take a look for yourself.

The wiper motor is located under the plastic air intake at the base of the windshield on the driver's side of the vehicle. It is not too hard to get at and you will need to remove at least the lh wiper arm. It is very possible it is a linkage problem and not the motor (the arms pop off their sockets sometimes on these cars) Take the plastic cover off and you will see the arms and be able to tell if they are disconnected or not.

On top of the window motor there is a timing cam -- there is a little tab on the bottom that is most likely broken or bent. You need to replace the cam.

can be faulty wiper motor or blown wiper control fuse.
you hear any kind of noise when you starter the wiper function. If yes then
fuse is ok, but issue is wiper motor.
no movement at all and no noise then its blown fuse or shorted/loose wiper
