Question about 2006 Chrysler Town & Country
My 2006 Chrysler Town & Country minivan is leaking oil, antifreeze, power steering fluid and transmission fluid. I just replaced my battery as the old one just died. I replace the fluids on a daily basis. Now my heater only blows cold air and my car is running HOT. I had the thermostat replaced thinking it was not opening which was did not solve the problem. The engine sounds like its always screaming when I press on gas. Also, steering wheel is making grinding noise when every so often when I turn wheel. Can anyone give suggestions besides taking to garage to be looked at as I am desperate. Thank you. Michele
Well Michele, you have several problems. First the cooling system, you have at least two problems, even if you replace the antifreeze the system can hold the correct pressure because of the leak; on top of that you have or a broken cable or a stucked valve on the heating system that means there is fluid trapped inside the system that should be flowing to the engine with the rest of cooling liquid. With the car off rey to move the temperature selector from cool to hot and try to hear if there is any sound of parts moving... Of you can here it, the cable/link is working but you have problem with the valve that's not openning, you need to replace it.
About the steering try to see if the leak is in a hose or in the pump(is attached to the engine, where you refill the steering fluid) in any case you need to take it to the shop to be replace/fix.

Look for traces of a light pink residue around the bottom of the waterpump and the radiator core support. The waterpump is near the firewall on the passenger side. If you still can't find the source of the leak you will have to have the system pressure tested. I hope this helps.

the noise may be because your power steering fluid level is low when cold, as the fluid warms up it expands enough to stop the whine, you should have the leak checked by your favorite mechanic shop

SOURCE: I have a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country that started out making a grinding noise and the steering would become stiff when turning. Now it leaks power steering fluid almost immediately putting it in an
sounds like power steering pump is shot.If it ran out of fluid and there is a leak somewhere else,it will burn the pump up.
