SOURCE: 2004 Ford Expedition rear floor cool/heat

03f81ff.gif
Item Part Number Description 1 — Air inlet door 2 — Temperature blend door 3 — Headliner airflow 4 — Auxiliary mode door 5 — Floor airflow 6 18476 Heater core 7 19860 Evaporator core 8 19805 Blower motor
The auxiliary A/C and heating system has the following features:

  • The auxiliary A/C and heating system is functional whenever the instrument panel mounted A/C control is in any position except OFF.
  • The auxiliary blower motor recirculates the air inside the vehicle. Outside air is not available to the auxiliary system.
  • Air is cooled and dehumidified by the auxiliary A/C evaporator core only if the instrument panel mounted A/C control is adjusted to a position that requires A/C compressor operation.
  • The temperature blend door and the auxiliary mode door are controlled by electric actuator motors.
  • Movement of the auxiliary temperature control between COOL and WARM causes a corresponding movement of the temperature blend door to mix air flowing through and around the auxiliary heater core.
  • Movement of the auxiliary mode control between PANEL and FLOOR causes a corresponding movement of the auxiliary mode door to direct air flow between the panel (headliner) registers and the floor duct.
---------------------------------------
I would say the auxiliary mode door (#4) electric motor is not wokring.

Auxiliary Blend Door Actuator —Air Distribution Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the screws.
  1. Disconnect the blend door actuator electrical connector.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

SOURCE: front vents do not work, a/c is blowing through

I had the same problem and found that the vacuum tube located behind the battery was cut. The tube is about the size of an ink tube inside a ball point pen. The size is 5/32" and can be purchased at most auto parts stores. A quick splice and you will be back to cooling.

SOURCE: my 2004 expedition When you put it on cool vent

This sounds like a blend door or actuator problem. Testing this is a pain and the repair may envolve removing the dash board and center console. I strongly recommend taking the vehicle to a repair shop. This one is beyond the DIYer especially if your pressed for time.

I assume you resolved the issues by now

Check lights have been on all vehicles for 31 years,
so you shouldn't be asking about them

Does not matter what light comes on your dash

The procedure is always the same

I have a 2004 ford expedition eddie bauer edition and my rear ac top vents are not blowing out any air

If this means that you have no rear air at all, the problem is a cheap resistor that you can replace. Ask a parts house to find the part and show you where it is located. You can do it and it's a cheap, easy fix. If some air is blowing out of other rear vents, then the problem may be a fan and not just the resistor. Air can be blowing out of the front vents like crazy and the problem with the back can be as I described sense front and back have separate resistors.

2004 ford expedition..need to replace ac vents ... the inside plastic louvers broke

To replace the vents the outer rotational adjustment ring will pull off ( Chrome on 2005) then the inner part is a tube about six inches long that has (2) Plastic clips on the furthest end away from you, This lets the part snap into place once installed. They will need to be lifted and the part should slide out towards you. need a light and long small tool.
I have found the 2005 part for 30-50 dollars and it looks like this happens a lot. One more thing, the mustang a/c, simliar years, vent might also be a usable part replacement.

2004 Eddie Bauer Expedition ...Front Vents needs to be replaced. need instructions how to remove broken vents and replace.

You can usually remove the old vents using a small flat bladed screwdriver and inserting it in the space between the dash and the vent (where the vent pivots) and gently prying up until the vent comes out. Replacing the vent is easier, just very carefully snap it back in the pivot holes. If the space seems a little tight, use the screwdriver to gently pry the dash out alittle till the vent goes into place.

1999 ford Expedition ac problem

Rick, u will need to take your car to get serviced. If your ac is not working properly it might be something inside that needs to be looked at. You might need to replace your heater box.
