I have a 1998 kia sportage wil crank over and will not start. no spark.

Sounds like the coil or possibly the electronic ignition, replace coil as this is the cheaper option. Check to see if your Kia then starts if it does allow the engine to run until at operational tempreture then shut off the engine allow 5 mins then try to restart if your Kia if it starts again without straining or being boosted via jumper cables problem solved. If by any chance you do replace the coil & your Kia still will not start the electronic ignition is the next step & that can be done yourself as long as you have the required tools & knowledge, if not a trained professional will be able to replace the electronic ignition but this will be very costly if it is the electronic ignition.

I hope this helps.

Car still wont start

How do you assume your not getting any fuel
without checking fuel pump function & pressure,
to confirm

The ignition module also failed, as well as some or
all coils,doubt that

Was anything tested at all & how?

So if you replace the iginition coil on the saturn ion will that fix the starting issue/problem?

How far have you gone into the iginition system, you could have secondary firing problems in spark plug wires. and or plugs

My bmw e30,325i box shape doesn't spark at all,i just discovered that the negative terminal wire from the coil is not connected, and i still dont know where it should be it looks like it...

the negative terminal of the battery SHOULD NOT BE connected in the ignition coil. the negative terminal of the ignition coil is connected to the condenser in your distributor.

1. make sure that your spark plug is working. try using other sparkplugs to check.
2. check if your high tension wires are working
3. if numbers 1 and 2 are ok, then just replace your iginition coil.

Engine distrutior seems bad in an 1994 ford f 250 5.8l

Check the TFI module its the eletronic iginition module ford has problems with them can,t say for sure but if you can,t find any thing else this could be it Unless you want to check the coil you can do this buytaking a mulity meter set it to OHMS take the black lead from themeter put it on the negative termanul on the battery and the tach terminal with the red from the meter you should read .7 ohms to 1.7 ohms on the primary side of the coil if not in this range replace the coil And on the secondary side of the coil neg terminal bat to output wire main plugs into top of coil and dist cap you should read7.5 to 10.5 k 1000 ohms if not in this range replace the coil But likely its the electronic ignition module

1997jimmy cuts off and starts back up when its been sitting for a while. replace iginition modulator, fuel filter, and fuel pump don't know what it is

Here's one thing you can do, carry little gas with you and when it cuts off, pour some gas down the intake manifold or throttle body. If it starts you probably have a fuel problem. If it doesn't start you most likely have a ignition problem. Using a test light check for Power going to your coil or coils. To rule out the ignition switch. But if I were to take a guess, ignition coil or coil wire, and if it has a distributor, ignition module pickup and rotor. Good luck.

Multiple Ignition coil failure w/ On-board computer failure

to beds_borders

That sounds very familiar. Our 2005 Ford Escape just had about the same problem to the tune of a $2800 repair. Computer failure caused two iginition coils to fail and had to drive over the Continenetal Divide on 4 cylinders. The vehicle is only 5 years old. Happened about 3 weeks ago. Ford said there is no recall. I have a big problem with that.. Where is the "quality" they are trying to sell?
