Question about 2004 Ford Explorer
Engine compartment on drivers side near firewall....follow black hose from fuel nozzle rack.."silver above sparkplugs" from the drivers side down to near the steering under or to the left of the brake booster.

The fuel filter is on the passenger side under the door near the front wheel well. It is behind a curved shield and a flat plate covering the fuel filter that is marked "fuel filter replace".
There is an aluminum plate held on with 3 13mm bolts. Remove it. Behind it there is a black plastic shield, held on with 2 10mm nuts. Remove that and you will see the fuel filter, and the bracket that holds it on.

the filter is located along the frame near the tank. its connected in between the fuel lines leading along the frame.

the maf sensor (mass airflow) is located under the hood, it is installed in the air intake duct between the air cleaner housing and the throttle body.
