I had this problem as well. My driver's side floor was wet everytime it rained hard. I searched for an answer for months. It was my moonroof drains. You can pop the trim off from the moonroof to the bottom of the window and see the drain tube. You can run a piece of weedeater twine (get some that is bright colored) thru the top of the moonroof down the drains to see if they are stopped up. The tubes are clear so you can tell if you have it in the right place.

SOURCE: car trunk leaking

The most likely place that it may be coming from is the Rear window seal.
When the rear window is put in - a rubbery tar is used... and after time (especially if parked in the sun) it will shrink, and dry out.
Usually at the top of the window is the culprit.
it will involve removing the rear window CAREFULLY and replacing the seal with a 2 part epoxy.

If you have a sunroof - there is also a drain tube that may have come disconnected.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.

SOURCE: rear floorboard behind driver set wet after rain

do you have a sun roof, if so start there, because there are two hoses at the back corners of the roof pan that allow water to drain, if they leak, they will soak the rear floorboards, and if not that check the door jam seals.(note that if the plugs on the floor are missing that will be verry hard not to have wet carpet)........let me know?

SOURCE: 85 Toyota Celica GT Headlights problem

There is a knob beside the headlights under the hood, fairly good sized, looks like rubber and you can manually turn down your headlights. That happened to my 86 Supra last year and the sync was just off and once I turned them down they started working perfectly. Hope this helps

2000 Celica back seats bottom stay wet all the time. I removed the seats and they are soaked with water. Where is it coming from. Thanks for any help.

If the car has a sunroof, your sunroof drains are backed up and leaking into rear (from pillars) need to be blown out w/compressed air. If not, might be leaking through trunk seal and/or lower glass rear window seal.

Do you have a sunroof? If you do, this may be the problem. The seal for the sunroof may be damaged letting water past the drain channels. A cheap trick is to get your water hose and hold it over the sunroof and if you don't see anything, try other areas such as the back glass "the seal could be bad or pulled away from the matting surface. You have drain channels all over the car, but the seals are the issue I would look for. The trunk could be leaking and letting water run through to the back seats. None of this seems possible but a leak can be very hard to trace down. Good Luck.r

How do you change a rear main oil seal in a 2000 toyota celica gt

First of all, be certain that the leak is in fact from that seal. many leaks travel to that area.

To change the seal is fairly involved, you need to pull the trans and flywheel. There are some specialzed tools involved. Do you have manual or automatic? Manual requires clutch plate alignment on re assembly, by the way , if manual, be sure to change the release bearing and pilot bearing at minimum. Commonly it would make sense to change the clutch during this process....you're already all the way in there..

Convertible leaks

Look for a plugged drain at both rear side panels. Water from the top can enter the car, but it is then discharged out thru drains. If the drains are clogged, you will have this problem. Same for any other Toyota convertible.
