Brake fluid reservoir - the cap will usually say "USE ONLY DOT-3 BRAKE FLUID", and is almost always located near the firewall between the back end of the engine bay and the front seats.

My brakes on my 2000 528 are freezing-up. I know I need new pads and rotors to the rear. Thought I was putting fluid in k it is the brake res. but I think it is the ATF res. Please help

As you apply the brakes the rotar and the pads wear down and your flued level goes down also, if you keep going the pads will drop out and the rotar will also get thiner the pads will actually fall out and you will have no brakes at all, so it is advisable to replace the pads it will cost you less money in the long run.

Leaking fluid around left front wheel of 2001 Audi A6

If it is near the tire it is brake fluid. The brake fluid reservoir is back by the firewall driver side of engine compartment. Your car uses DOT 4 brake fluid.

I have transmission fluid leaking on the inside of my car under the dashboard!!!! I can see a transmission line coming from transmission and it goes into the fire wall it is a 5 speed manual transmission....

this is the line going from your master cylinder i believ. take it to a shop for repair unless you know how to replace it. and be vary vary cautious bringing it to a shop because if i am right you will loose your clutch and not not be able to get it into gear if you stop. and if you let me know what year it is i can maybe tell you how to replace this your self.
hope this helps you and please rate me if you would.
