Question about Cars & Trucks
99 ford ranger passive anti theft system won't let my truck start after I changed the fuses
If the security system is at fault, the security light should be flashing or staying on.
Do the warning lights come on the dash when you turn the key on ? Can you jumper the starter relay and make it crank ?

Do you have a key with a resister in it? If you do then all you have to do is measure the resistance of the key and jump the wiring with the same resistance

the anti-theft has been activated and needs to be reset.you may have to get it to a shop that has the tools to do this or go to the dealer to get it done.did you use a key that was cut as a spare and doesn`t have a chip in it.this usually can cause this.also if the wires at the switch break it can activate the anti-theft system.
