Well do check the fuses.
i looked ,the fuse is common to both
so check for 12v to the HL retracted motor.
the integrated relay #1 controls the deal.
but the HL motor s have 3 wire status and up/down, connections.
the fsm covers this, my online dont, do the testing.
but you can swap left motor for rigth motor , to see if the problem
is in the motor/switch assembly or the relay 2 box.

1995 Lexus gs 300 trouble with power distribution inside cabin nothing works but fuses are good

power comes from the main box.

and via 3 paths,

you said nothing , that implies key on dead, path 1. and head lights path 2.

so if both pathes are dead i the cab, it must be the main in the engine bay as the head lights work all the time. key in pocket so can be a bad ignition switch. see?

so i grab my my volt meter and open the under hood PDC and see

if all fuses have 12vdc.

if not they are blown.

you do know that fuse can look good and be bad , right.

hair line cracks.

so i never trust eyes on good lookers out comes my 10 buckmeter

and behold it never lies to me.

12.65vdd at batter, across terms and hot to ground body.

12v on each fuse, both sides.

see DUANE do it right. here.

short but shows how good looks too, watch the master.

easy huh?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZrCrBx4uFY&feature=player_detailpage#t=101

the beeper the meter, nomatter.

the voltage must leave the PDC box and arrive at the cab box.

the head lights are first, on all cars.

why?

because they are hot all the time and super easy to fix.

some times the PDC is hot, 12v and the connector under the

PDC is corroded.

like this one.

not so pretty.

Turn the key, nothing happens, new battery

check voltage at main fuse box (what car)? and those fuses.
to fix electrical , "nothing" means , bad head lights.
so that very simple system is the most easiest to diagnose.
voltage at the head light fuse, (no) then move back to the engine bay
fuse box for power on all fuses there (large fuses)
at one point you get 12v (HL are hot all the time)
between the last bad point and the good 12v point is the section that is open circuited.
easy huh?

My 2000 Toyota Corolla headlights will not turn on during the night, and stay on during the day

Your Corolla has daytime running lights (DRLs). A photocell determines whether it is day or night. Your DRLs turn on automatically in daytime without you operating the light control ("headlight") switch. Your DRLs are actually your headlights on low beam. At night, the photocell senses it is dark and disables the DRLs. When you set the light control ("headlight") switch to HEAD, the head relay closes and the headlights should turn on. Since they don't, I suggest opening the engine room junction block and checking the 40A MAIN fuse and the 10A LEFT HEAD (UPPER) and RIGHT HEAD (UPPER) fuses. In engine room relay block 5, check the 10A LH-LWR HEAD and RH-LWR HEAD fuses. Replace any blown fuses and the headlights should be working normally again

My running lights are not working is there a fuse box inside the car

You have 3 fuses you need to inspect. All are under the hood in the power distribution relay box. Fuse first is the head main relay its a 30 amp fuse inspect to make sure its not open. You will also have a right hand lamp fuse and a left hand lamp fuse. Inspect and make sure they are not open. If all the fuse are good and your daytime running light are still non operation you can narrow it down to the daytime running light module. If this module sees a parking brake switch engage the daytime light will not operate.

Hello! I have a 1981 Datsun 280ZX Turbo and the problem Im havin is when i switch on lights the only thing will come on is the head lights! Is there a way i can fix this my self? Thanks!

Hi,
Check first the fuse for the interior lightings, if the fuse is broken replace it with the same amperage( usually 15amps. ).
If the fuse is okay, then check the light switch, the plastic cam inside might have been melted down by the metal contactors and you have to replace that part. Hope it just needs cleaning and might be disconnected wire in the light switch harness.
You have to open the steering cover to check the switch.
Hope that helps you out.

Thanks for asking FixYa!

Tail lights on 2004 nissan maxima out.

hey i just fixed mine with the same exact problem, look, all you have to do is open your 3rd fuse box which is next to your washing fluid on the passenger´s side under the hood, for that you need to remove the cover wich is pretty easy (5 staples all you need is a thin flat screw driver to lift the center of the staple and then the whole staple) then you take off the cover and then you open the fuse cover, you are looking for the TAILLIGHT fuse wich is the first on the upper row from right to left if you are standing on the passenger side looking towards the drivers side (you can also look for that fuse in the fuse box cover diagram) remembre is a 15A fuse, replace it, jaja and thats how you save some dollars. saludos desde guadalajara mexico.
