Question about Ford Transit Connect

1 Answer

Orange or yellow cog light keeps coming on, I've got a late 2006 ford transit connect.

It keeps sending it into limp mode! It is such a pain. The thing is about 4 months ago the passenger front wheel came off and the van dropped I've had problems since this. Please can someone help. I'm desperate?

Check for damage when the wheel came off check for bent axle/ shaft/stub axle. There are sensors in the hub for the ABS and ride control and they may be damaged / wiring damaged . Check the wheel bearings for condition and adjustment as if the bearings are loose then the air gap between the rotor and the sensor will be out and the sensor will be operating the CPU which may be putting it in limp mode. Check also for brake fluid levels as that also will affect the system

SOURCE: I have a warning light

it has detected a malfunction and it is trying to save your motor from damage. that is why it wont rev or gain power, it doesnt want you to. kinda like you just broke your leg and someone said get up and walk, yet your brain says no its gonna hurt or fail causing further damage. Could be a oil pressure, cam sensor, knock sensor, temp sensor. need to get a diagnostic check on that car, I dont think its a major issue if your car is running and you hear nothing out of the ordinary, I'm not saying to drive it either, It needs to be checked now to protect the motor and your pocket book.

My 1997 MK5 Ford Transit 2.5 Tdi Starts, will not go above idling, and when trying to it suddenly stops, and the ECU lights up.

Sounds like it's in limp mode. Limp mode means your car is basically limping along. There's normally something wrong with the ecu or possibly a multitude of other things. Take it to the manufacturer and let them at least dianose it.

I have a 2006 Ford 500. It kicks in to "limp mode" occasionally. There doesn't seem to be any other issues with the transmission other than this.

TCC solenoid. This is for over drive. This is an internal transmission problem. Could be just the solenoid. It could be OD clutches. If you have an OD switch, keep it turned off/light on. If you don't have the money to repair it right now. Stay off the highway.

the flashing orange light is the glowplug light that telling you there is a engine managment problem. you need to get the fault code out of the engine control module with a obd code reader to determine the cause but the common cause of the flashing glow plug warning is a air leak after the turbo charger

I have a ford fiesta 2006 diesel manual car , last night when i start my its showa yellow light in the rpm metre and i try to increase the speed but its would not go more than 30kms and my car suddnlt

The light is the engine light and the reason that you cannot go fast is because the CPU is in limp mode. Check the oil and water levels and check engine operating temperature. Have the codes read to find the sensor that put the car in limp mode to protect the engine and gear box.

There is no way to get around a proper repair on a computer controlled transmission, that is wishful thinking. What is the fault code that is memory? Have you even run the system scan yet?
