The vehicle will suddenly jerk to the left at acceleration, and when you lift your foot from the accelerator it tugs to the right. Probable cause?

could be a differential problem, or half shaft broken where power is only going ot one wheel. when the car accelerates the wheel with power can cause the vehicle to jerk. could also be a wheel problem. ensure the tyres are inflated correctly. is the steering wheel straight or turned to one side when driving in a straight line. if turned there may be damage to the steering system. did the symptom start after another person has driven the vehicle? or after an accident or driving into a curb or off road? all these may be factors to the problem. if not the case try rotating the wheels front left to rear right and front right to rear left to see if the problem disapears. if persists seek professional to test drive the vehicle and give an appraisal to the cause.

I hope this was helpful.

1997 Nissan 200sx. Wheel vibration

jack the car up and give the see if the wheel has any movement left to right or top to bottom. If there is no movememnt then your cv joint is ok and tie rod is good. is the a noise when you make a tight turn left or right , it maybe a wheel bearing. Also you have checked the nuts on the wheel itself are all tight?

Knocks when you turn, steering column jerks

Hi there - S Wilkins here.
Could be a front hub bearing or axle CV joint.
You may be able to raise the front wheels and move them around and find what is loose.

KEY WON'T TURN ON THE IGNITION

Hi Aldene, Your vehicle seems too young to have a problem with a worn key so I suggest that the problem was related to the position of the steering wheel and the tongue of the locking mechanism. Sometimes when the lock engages it is under the load of the weight of the front wheels, if they are not in the straight ahead position. A small movement of the steering wheel is usually enough to release the steering lock. Regards John

When a strut is worn, what are symptons? How can one diagnose it? KIA Sephia 1998?..

some times you will get a bouncing in wheel ,nose dive in front end when stopping or hard breaking, did you try jacking up car so wheel is just off ground ,put a bar under tire and lift up observe wheel movement ,then do other wheels , if it is a strut the wheel will move up and down freely , look for fluid leaking around strut body ,5000 miles is not much of a factor things do break.the other is get the front end off the ground both wheels,SAFELY !!!!!! WITH THE CAR SHUT OFF WHEELS BLOCKED, have one person turn wheel while you observe it , look for anything wrong grab the wheel and try to move left to right (a small ) motion observe what happens ,is there wiggle ? with out moving steering wheel. if not sure of any of these ,PLEASE take it to a mechanic .hope this helps good luck. My car makes a bad growling noise. Everyone said that it was a front wheel bearing because that tire was worn down really bad on the outside. I replaced the passenger front wheel bearing, and it is still...

WHEEL BEARING USUALLY STARTS MAKING A ROARING TYPE NOISE WHICH USUALLY GETS LOUDER THE FASTER YOU DRIVE, SOMETIMES THEY WILL BE LOOSE , TO CHECK JACK UP THAT WHEEL AND GRAB TOP AND BOTTOM OF TIRE AND SHAKE, IF THERE IS MOVEMENT, TRY TO GET SOMEONE TO ROCK TIRE FOR YPU AND WATCH WHERE AXLE GOES INTO CENTER OF BEARING AND SEE IF AXLE IS MOVING WITH TIRE MOVEMENT AND SPINDLE REMAINS STATIONARY, THEN IT IS BAD BEARING, OR SOMETIMES THERE WILL BE NO MOVEMENT, THEN BLOCK REAR WHEELS AND RUN CAR WITH THAT WHEEL IN AIR AND SEE IF YOU HEAR NOISE, GOOD LUCK.

2000 intrigue, seems like right front wheel jerks, 3.5, 153k mi

The "jerking" can be normal because that is the wheel that the power is going to..
If the jerking is "too much" it could be out of allingment or could be a warn out bushing or a bad ball joint in the front end.. Jack up the front of the car (be safe) leaving the front wheel hanging free.. **** the wheel left to right.. You should be able to see if anything is loose or not moving properly..

Check the U-joints and axle baerings. But its most likely because the truck is in four wheel drive.
