2002 saturn engine codes p0305,p0421 & p1818, what do i have to do to fix them?

Start with a tune up and change your fuel filter. Check your plug wires or better, replace them. The p0421 code has to do with the cat. Also, install spark plug anti foulers, you can get them at your local auto parts store. Follow the spark plug link. As for p1818, have this code reset at a reliable shop preferably a transmission shop. Ask around and some of your friends for their recommendations as to where you can take your car to to have the trans control module reset without the shop trying to tell you you have to fix something, ie shell out the big bucks. tell them aLl you want is to have the code and trans reset, NOTHING MORE. Sometimes this code comes up false. so have it reset after you take care of the tune up etc. this code should be reset using a transmission code reader.

Transmission Codes

This is usually a PCM / TCM problem, replacement, wiring repairs, or reprograming is usually the repair. Dealership is your best option for a qualified Diagnosis /repair.

I have a 2006 Saturn vue and having trouble when I first take off until around 40 mph and warms up and then it's fine. took to advance auto codes are P0700 and P 1818 TFP value position sw indicates w/o dr...

code p0700 refers to transmission control system malfunction==causes wiring-- TCM= replace the TCM . Check with the dealer to find which servo/ sensor p1818 refers to but it may also be related to the TCM.

Check engine light indicates p700 code

Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P0700 is an informational code that is stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM) That informs the diagnostic technician that there are codes present in the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and that the TCM has requested the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (AKA - Check Engine Light) to be turned on. This is because the MIL is controlled by the ECM and cannot be turned on directly by the TCM. So, the TCM requests the ECM to turn the light on. To find out the nature of the failure that caused the P0700, one must scan the TCM to retrieve the fault codes stored there. Please note that MOST generic OBD code readers cannot access the TCM - this is the reason for the P0700 code to set in the ECM (to alert somebody with a generic code reader that further diagnosis is needed for the TCM).

What do i need to replace to fix error code p0700 on a 2002 dodge intrepid

(DTC) CODE # P0700....Transmission Control System (MIL Request) Translation: Transmission Control Module (TCM) Malfunction or Failure. P0700 Information Code The Transaxle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. If any malfunction is detected, the TCM informs the PCM by sending a signal (P0700 code). P0700 means that a code has been set in the TCM. This code is for information ONLY. If this code is present, check for transaxle codes. So basically, the P0700 code is telling you to check the TCM for a transaxle DTC. The TCM can not turn on the check engine light so it has the PCM do it.

I hope this helps....let me know if I can assist further !!

Car does not run ,I check the code ,it is P0700

Because it is not starting, you should replace the Crankshaft sensor (above the oil filter, back of the engine)-it will cause a P0700-I have a 99 SL2, 178,000 miles

DTC) CODE # P0700....Transmission Control System (MIL Request)
Translation: Transmission Control Module (TCM) Malfunction or Failure. The dealer probably saw the code P0700 and went to the TCM and pulled out the code stored there telling them the Transmission Solenoid Assembly (TSA) is bad. This is a good example of understanding what the codes actually mean. If the manual you looked at said the TCM is bad and to replace the TCM when you see a P0700, then it is wrong.
