Is it antifreeze, or water? If you have been using your air conditioning, it could be condensation running in because the drain is plugged. Check it closely before you rip out your heater core, because, yes, sometimes that can be a big job.

Sure sounds like it is the heater core leaking. Check the radiator as see if it is low or run your hand along the bottom of the cover for the heater and see if you can feel water on the heater core cover. Hope this helps.
probably leaking heater core. you may have low coolant level now. the only place water comes in the cabin is for the heater, that has got to be it. the heater core can be bypassed (like my car's is) by simply cutting the hose that leads into the car and leave about a foot, make a big U out of it and plug the other side of the hose into the coolant passage that returns from the heater core and leads into the intake manifold. pretty easy you will need a knife, hose clamps, and common sense. the third one is a little harder to come by! :)
A check engine light means a faulty valve or sensor somewhere in the system. There are places you can go that will connect to the cars diagnostics system and tell you for sure. As for the fluid on the floorboard, the heater core has gone bad. Which means that as the anti-freeze and fluid is going through the heater system it is leaking out of the heater core which is behind the dash board. The two MIGHT be related but I doubt it. Hope it helps!
