Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

Kia Sedona 2002 (Mk2) central locking locks itself randomly, although most often whilst closing the driver's door.

I have removed the door panel, checked all linkages, removed the door lock units and checked for sticking levers etc. Everything looks fine, no sign of frayed wires or water damage.

SOURCE: Drivers side rear door lock inoperative

You need to replace the electric solenoid/actuator for the door lock. The door panel pulls off very easily.

SOURCE: Central locking problem:- doors locking

The central locking system is controlled by the ecu, simply a common fault, disconnect the passenger door terminal to the lock and see what happens if the other doors lock normally then this confirms that there could be a fault in the wiring loom or relay if the doors unlock after locking then its a ecu problem. See an auto electrician
Regarding the water consunption what colour is the oil hope its not cream, radiator cap may need replacing as it could be blowing the water out, if the reseviour bottle is always full then this confirms it..Hope this helps you out

SOURCE: Renault Clio Rear Door Lock Fault

It has nothing to do with the "child lock" It is a know problem in this car, they tend to get caught in lock. Only thing to do, is to take of the panel then the outside handle, and through that hole destroy the plastic covering the lock, a large screwdriver and hammer will do! Then you can release the lock, while you pull the inside release handle. Buy new!

SOURCE: Driver door central locking

More than likely your front driver door module has failed.  You will need to replace this module and readapt the key fobs for locking and unlocking

-can someone tell me how to open the front passenger door on a 2002 Kia Sedona it's jammed I pulled the panel off and my pulled on the lock lever it's still not opening

My dad just had the same problem with his driver door. it turned out that a spring had broken in the lock assembly and we had to replace the spring. alternatively you could replace the entire assembly. look in the bottom of the door to make see if there is a small broken spring in the bottom. I just did a video on this so if you want to check it out it's on youtube at.

2003 Kia Optima doors are unlocked but wont open. How do I get the doors open in order to remove the panels to fix the problem?

will the drivers door not open whilst the key is turned in the key lock ?if not can you open the trunk with the key , lean into the trunk and there should be a catch to release one of the rear seats down, then get some one small , scramble through to the rear of vehicle and open back door from inside , hope this helps, when you get into vehicle check the fuse for the central locking as might save you stripping out the door panel,if fuse ok just strip out the drivers door as this is the actuating lock that sends the signal to the other doors

Try checking the central locking module as most of these problems cab be traced back to it being faulty

The locks on the kias 2007 spectra when you push the button it makes bussing sound in the drivers door also they will lock the doors on you.

Sounds like the electric motor that controls the lock arm is possibly sticking and grinding on itself causing the buzzing noise. Or it could be something inside the panel has created an issue for the arm and motor to move freely.

If you go to this site: http://www.kiatechinfo.com you may be able to find a way to remove the door panel and check out the function of the lock. I'd give it a look see before you take it to a shop, it could be something simple. Replacing the entire lock would probably get a little on the expensive side.

2005 Kia Sedona grinds when locking door

You have a defective door lock actuator motor, more then likey water has gotten into it from a torn weather seal boot. Remove the door panel and replace it.

@att.netmy window will not go up on driverer side could it be a fuse

Had similar problem with my 2004 Kia Optima. I could control the driver window and door locks with the panel but the other windows and door locks would only work one way (open or close but not both). Had the switch panel on the driver's door replaced. Windows all worked after that but still had issue with door locks ... I can lock them all, just can't unlock them from the driver's door. They have to be unlocked from each individual door. I guess can live with it. FYI ... the switch panel for the driver's door was $250 from a Kia dealer so you might want to check salvage yards for it.

2003 kia sedona door wont open from inside or out, latch is broken. how can i open the door to fix this?

You'd have to remove the door panel. Probably impossible while the door is closed, may have to cut it. Ask a bodyshop or dealer for advice.

The driver side door does not unlock - can only (central locking)

Hi:
It is extremely difficult to remove the door panel with the door closed. You mentioned that you can unlock the door with a key, so does the door still open and close once unlocked? You most likely just need to replace the power door lock solenoid, as when they fail, they usually sieze up, and make manual lock unlocking difficult.
