Its behind the water pump and timing chain cover.
You'll need a book to get the directions to replace it.

Is there a reason you are changing it, unlike a belt they do not really need changing every so many thousands of miles/kilometres. If there is no problem, I personally would be loath to change it. As for the time to change it, here is the first of various videos to help you, the others follow on.

Squeak/chirping sound from the timing chain area. Does the 2000 Windstar with a V-6 have a self-adjusting tensioner on the timing chain? The mileage is 133,000.

That sound is most likely the cam synchroniser. It is located in the area youre speaking of. If you look at the timing cover there is a small 3 wire sensor attached by 3 screws to what appears to be a distrbutor. these develop a squeak and can only be fixed by replacing.

It varies now days,it is somewhere under the dash.
most of the times it is on the fuse box under the dash,
It can be on top of the steering column, you have to remove the knee bolster and search around that area.
