Question about 1995 Mitsubishi Mirage

Ac not blowing at low or high

My a/c was blowing only at high but recently it doesn't blowing at all(no matter hot or cold). I can hear the sound of compressor and I can feel the cooling surface when I switch on the A/C as well.

two things you may try, relocate ambient sensor to colder place, remove it from front bumper, and connect the two wires on refregerant temp sensor located @ rear of compressor, be carefull and observe your a/c system after doing this

The accumulator a long cylinder depending on the car may be located close to the fire wall under the
hood or close to your condensor. it will have a pressure switch, called a low pressure switch senses
freon pressure in the accumulator, if it is not getting voltage to it or there is a leak on its seal, it will open
up and will not let voltage go to the clutch on your ac compressor. you can pull off the switch, turn on your ac on high, get a paper clip or jumper wire, and jump the molex if your compressor comes on and
your car starts to cool,check the switch it may not be seated all the way, its a normally closed switch,
if you read across the switch with an ohm meter you should get a closed loop,when the ac is turned off,
you can remove it to test it without pulling the freon. if its open the clutch will not work, also check the
molex with a test light while it is on the switch,with ac on if it shows voltage on and off you could have
a bad wire. good luck!

A mechanic would check the system with a set of pressure gauges. If the compressor is running, the low side would read around 30psi and the high side would be around 250psi. That is how you know if the system is full of freon or not.
You may have to get a professional diagnosis to proceed. If you replace the compressor, the accumulator needs to be replaced and a vac pump is used to pull all of the air out before the freon is added.

Is the compressor running ? What are the low and high pressure readings ?
Are the radiator fans running ?
Is one ac line cold and one hot in the engine compartment.

Temperature gauge fluctuates and the heater blows cold air


Definitely check your fluid level in your radiator. Top it off all the way. I've seen that happen multiple times on cars that were low on anti-freeze. If that doesn't work try replacing your thermostat. It's cheap and the easiest place to start if topping off the fluid doesn't get you fixed up.

Air conditioner blows hot air inadvertantly.


possibl ac compressor clutch problem,cooling fan at rad not working so ac goes into high press mode and turns off(so it doesn,t blow system apart,built in safety)not enough r134 in system(low charge)
