Question about 2007 Opel Astra GTC

My astra gtc will not start... there is 12.3 volts in the battery and even when you put the booster to it, it still will not start... when you try to start it the starter just clickes and goes nowhere. could the problem be the starter? or something else?

Sounds like a dead starter to me. You could pull it out and try cleaning it really well it some penetrating fluid as it could be just stuck, but if that doesn't work then it will need to be replaced.

May be but I doubt it. The alternator is not putting enough power to keep the light out. IT works like this battery power (12 volts) flows through the light to the alternator and puts it on when the alternator starts to charge the extra voltage from the alternator (14.5 volts) flows back through the light and as the 2 volts difference is not enough to make the light work it goes out . IF you are measuring 12 volts at the battery and 12 volts at the alternator then then the alternator is not charging. What you should have is 12 volts at the battery and as you rev up the engine the voltage should increase at the battery up to 15 volts maximum at around 2000 RPM

Have you tried pushing the lever like you are lowering the bucket while starting it? Sometimes the pumps on these can drag the engine back while starting, especially if cold. It's best to shut them down with the bucket in the air some. Let me know how it goes.

F means the sensor has failed. as to what sensor you need the codes to be read to find out witch one.

My top gasket cover is leaking oil. I replaced the whole cover with a new one but the problem persists. My car is a 2007 Opel Astra gtc turbo


this is the 16 valve one with a rubber ring type gasket ,what i do with these is clean it all up the i glue the rubber gasket in with evostick ,place face down on a flat bench t dry then grease the rubber and fit that always does it for me ,they fall out of the groove no matter how good or hard you try .Old trick i learnt in the ford factory when putting the big V manifolds on .

1994 Toyota pickup. It was left sitting for a year. Battery may be bad, but I put it on a 12 amp charger-booster. When I try and use the booster to start the engine, the dashboard buzzes and the engine...


Depends on how many amps the booster can supply. If the battery is completely dead then I'd imagine you need 150-200 amps to crank the engine ... probably way more than your booster has to offer.

Is replacing the battery on 2007 Bentley GTC a dealer item only?- due to computer operation faults? Can Autozone preform this?


when you disconnect the battery you may have to do a total reset,(slim chance)NO DISRESPECT TO AUTOZONE but IT IS A BENTLEY..........and if it does need it they havnt got a chance......

Have a 1996 Taurus wagon--dead battery--got brand new battery and connected it properly and car barely turns over and wont turn enough to start--car was sitting for about three months


Was the battery checked before it was sold to you? Batteries will lose their charge over a period of time even when not hooked up. If you have a voltmeter it should read 12.8 volts on a fully charged battery.
Have you tried to boost the car with cables?
I suspect if the car was working OK 3 months ago it should start. Which leads me to suggest an undercharged battery.

2004 Sebring GTC V-6 2.7L will not start


CHECK BATTERY VOLTAGE IT SHOULD BE 12.5 VOLTS.IF NOT HAVE IT CHARGED AND LOAD TESTED.IF ALL IS GOOD.CHECK ALTERNATOR OUT PUT.IT SHOULD BE 13.5 TO 14.5 VOLTS.WITH ENGINE RUNNING.IF ALL IS GOOD.HAVE THE STARTER SOLENOID AND STARTER CHECKED.IF ALTERNATOR OUT PUT IS LOW.HAVE ALTERNATOR REMOVED AND TESTED. DUE TO LOCKOUT FEATURE.MAKE SURE RADIO IS TURNED OFF BEFORE DISCONNECTING NEGATIVE BATTERY BEFORE REMOVING COMPONENTS.

Cant start 96' integra


If you get the car running and your vehicle does not cut out, place a volt meter (Set on DC) on the positive and negative terminals of the battery while its running. it should read *Above* 12v (usually 13.5 - 14, sometimes just higher then 12, that shows its charging.) if it is reading less then 12 then your alternator is toast. Replace what is needed.
