1994 honda accord new altanator ,engine dies when battery is disconected

If the alternator is wired correctly and working, the vehicle will keep running if nothing else is switched on at idle speed.
Just because an alternator is new does not guarantee it works.
Make sure the alternator has a connection to the battery (voltage at it's output terminal) and has power to it's regulator.

87 e150 dies when batt is disconected

In the old days, you could check a generator by disconnecting the battery. Now computers need voltage when the engine is running and you can toast a computer AND alternator by disconnecting the battery with the engine running.
So disconnecting the battery on a running engine doesn't tell you anything.
Do you know if the alternator is charging ?

I would suggest going to a auto parts store like AuotZone and have system check. They will do it for free. You also may want to try disconnecting the POSITIVE CABLE and not the NEGATIVE it will die when you disconnect the ground.

Wont hold charge

Have battery checked for dead cells first, then check alternator. These items can be checked at your local parts store. Good Luck!!!
