There are 2 motors under the seat that control how it moves (one for forward/back and one for up/down) Check to make sure the connections are still connected/clean. If they are then your motor burnt out or there is something jamming the rollers on the track the seat rides on.

SOURCE: Power driver seat will not adjust forward or back.

My intuition tells me that the 6 way power seat track forward / reverse motor is bad. Sometimes you can replace just the one motor but most often a whole new power seat track is the only way to repair. It is not too bad to replace but the seat will have to be removed from the car and placed upside down to access the track assy. There are 2 bolts in the front of the seat and 2 bolts in the back of the seat that hold it down to the floorboard. Once it is loose you can rock the seat backwards to access and unplug the electrical connectors.

Check the connector on the cylindrical motor under the seat. You can see it from the back seat well. The connector has a tendency to come loose because of stuff pushed underneath the seat.

Depending on mileage and care...100K+ could mean low on tranny fluid (1) dirty clogged tranny fluid & filter (2) wheel bearing worn/locked? If you think it is dirty/low on tranny fluid, try adding a bottle or 2 of Lucas Oil Transmission Stabilizer...works great without draining anything...try this first...any other symptoms?

I need to now how to take the driver and passanger seats out of a 1997 pontiac grand prix

There are four bolts that mount them to the body, you might have to move the seat forwards or backwards in order to access them. You'll need a ratchet and I believe a 1/2 inch socket. Also you'll need to unplug the electrical connection if there powered seats.

Is there a manual override for the electric seat in a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix? the seat is forward and won't go back

No its electric only. Check the fuse first. If the fuse is good, check to see the seat controls are getting power. If power is at the controls, check to see if power is available at the seat motor. If there is then the seat motor is bad.

How do you put the seats down from the trunk in a 2007 pontiac grand prix? Door remote will not workto unlock door.

to drop the back seat there is a latch behind the seat at the top on each side. for the door remote check the battery in the remote and make sure it is functional. If the battery is good, the module in the vehicle is defective.
