1996 dodge dakota blower fan , cut out while driving ,no owners manuel , to check what fuse to change

The diagram is for v6. The top wire at blower motor is voltage, the bottom wire is ground. Use a test light and check both voltage and ground. Key on--hvac on. If you have good voltage and ground with no blower action, suspect the blower motor. The blower motor is usually under the passenger side dash.

the blower should be in the glove box department not really familiar with trucks , it might be that the blower is just dead if so you need to replace it

the only way i can think of finding this out is by going to a gas station( if it drives) and fulling it up as much as you can and checking on the pump. if it doesnt run i am not sure how to determine size other than the owners manuel

The blower motor itself could possibly be seized. I would check for power at the resistor and the blower motor itself. If the blower motor has voltage at the motor I would replace the motor. If you have no voltage at the motor but voltage at the resistor it's the resistor ( generally if a resistor fails you still have HI, but not always ), If you have no voltage going to the resistor I would start the routine checkign of grounds, and possibly the switch itself, as well as any other fuses that may be hidden somewhere else like in the engine compartment.

Check the fan switch and fuses.

try replacing the blower resister

A lay man would start the engine and switch on everything ...lights,fan, traffickers... etc. Then go on to the fuse box and pull out the fuses one by one noting what goes off as the fuse is pulled out.
