you may have a short circuit in the system seek auto electriction

Pull an O2 sensor before the catalytic convert. If it starts, replace the cat.

Do you have a steady spark?
Check the fuel pressure, meybe you have a bad fuel pump

So simply put a fuse of that size would most likely be bolted in. And for future reference a fusible link is a wire that acts like a fuse you are dealing with a regular fuse. here is a video of someome changing a fuse on a similar age toyota.

No. I have never expierienced a vsv making a vehicle not run. If your vehicle is not running then that wouldnt be the reason.

start pullin fuses one by one till it dosent die and then study that circuit in the manule and it could lead you to the fix

Replace the fule filter.

It souds like the same problem i had a few months ago, have your timing belt checked, i am most certainly sure that it is the belt, usualy the belt breaks, or slips off the pulley.......hope this is helpful.
