SOURCE: I am getting fault codes 34, 53, & 25 on a '93

On all L-bodies (Omni/Horizon and related cars), along with all vehicles from model years before 1987 with EGR (nearly all of them), code 34 indicates that the EGR solenoid circuit is open or shorted — as indicated by voltages of 0 volts when the solenoid is on, or voltage of 12V when the solenoid is turned off. The power limited light will not be lit and the system will not enter limp mode.

Yea I get where your coming from, they give you general idea of whats wrong, or an in accurate list. Your going to have to have the codes extracted from the computer by a shop mechanic that can pin point whats wrong. The computer will hide the codes, thats where dodge gets their money. Hope this helps.

Replace the Automatic Shutdown Relay. If that doesn't fix the problem, the other place I would look, would be the Hall Effect Switch inside the distributor. You should be able to change this part without removing the distributor. If the computer doesn't get a signal from the Hall Effect, it will shut down the ASD, which supplies power to the coil and the fuel pump.

Wheres obdii connector in a 1987 dodge dakota?

No, OBDII started on some 1995 vehicles and all vehicles 1996 and up. If I'm not mistaken you can try the following to try to get the codes from your vehicles computer, not sure if it works but try it: Here is what I need you to do:

1) with the engine OFF, cycle the key from off to on 3 times. On the 3rd time, leave it in the run position. (DO NOT CRANK or START ENGINE)

2) The check engine light should begin to flash.

3) Count flashes. In this year, trouble codes were 2 digit numbers. Thus, the light will flash, pause, then flash again to give you the 2 digit trouble code. Count the number of flashes each time. Between codes, there will be a longer pause. When it finishes, the final code will be 55. Good Luck.

How to retrieve problem codes on a 1995 dodge dakota

Without a scanner insert the key in to the ignition turn the ignition to on then off then on again then if again and then on do not crank the engine do this within seconds and then look for the check engine light to flash. 1 pause follow by two flashes is code 12 when there aren't any more codes to display the light will flash 5 times pause and flash 5 more times this is 55 indicating that the process is complete.

Engine light comes on, have computer numbers for cencores, but dont know which cencore, numbers are 12343255

The numbers are grouped in twos.
12 Memory standby power lost (this means that you must have disconnected your battery. It will turn off in the next 50 key cycles.
34 Speed control vacuum or vent control solenoid circuits.
32 EGR system
55 end of codes it will always flash 55 informing you that it is finished
Hope this helps give feedback and good luck FixYa
