SOURCE: air bag deployed and was

Hi.

After replacing the air bag, the air bag control module must be reset using a diagnostic tool available at the dealer and at Kia authorized garages. The tool is not a generic OBDII scanner but a DT-1 tool. See:Kia Diagnostic Tools.

If the reset has already been done and did not work, then the clock spring mounted between steering column and steering wheel has not been fitted correctly. In that case the steering wheel must be refitted correctly to the steering column with the clock spring at the neutral position or the air bag will not work properly. Below the picture of a Sedona clock spring:

What is the black box for under the driver seat?

09 sx4 , what country?
you could find the part number on the box and look it up at suzuki
right?
my guess would be air bags, the devices that measure persons
weight so the air bag ,don't kill the frail , young and old.
or alarm modules.>?
it is the SDM (srs air bag module per above)
if really curious, why not buy the FSM book and see it all?
USA book only ! nextg

$4 to read all day too.

Suzuki 1999 grand vitara air bag light stay s on

Then you have an air bag system that is turned off,
should you need those air bags

You have a light on your dash

One would assume it is not your first dash light,
indicating a system failure

SO-- your off to the repair shop, same as last time

Light engine on the 2008 suzuki sx4. replaced the front 02 sensor and plugs. still light stays on and says 02 senor could be the problem.

There are several O2 sensors. There 's the sometimes from 2 to 4 on each vehicle. They are located at the pipes before they get to the catalytic converter and after. It may be that the one you replaced is good but one or all of the others are not good.

2008 suzuki sx4 airbag problem - recode

in a word ,no.
you can check the fuses.
or buy the FSM for the car and read the long chapters on this.
btw they are dangerous to fiddle , while in close proximity to any bag.
most cars you can get the codes from this module and check fault code but each maker has different ways to do that. so dont guess. get help.

Airbag light reset sx4

There is a manufacturer's recall on this if it's caused by a failure in the front passenger weight detection system.

The system has a minimum weight required in the front passenger seat for the airbag to deploy in an accident (if no one is in the front passenger seat during an accident, the airbag does NOT deploy). If the system fails and the car cannot determine if someone is in the front passenger seat, the light illuminates and in an accident the passenger airbag WILL deploy, even if there's no one in that seat.

The purpose of the system is to prevent airbag deployment for a lightweight child in the front seat. The fix is to replace the seat weight sensor mat...free if it's the recall item.

Need to fit two airbags do I fit the module before or after.

disconnect battery and do not work on system for at least 5 minutes then remove air bags and then remove the module. Install both air bags then install module and plug in next hook battery back up and turn key to run do not start watch the air bag light to see if it goes off. if it does start it is there a air bag light light lit or flashing? if no your good to go if you get a flashing light then you need to check accelerometers on each side of the front of the car. If the car is equipped with alarm system you will need to reste it to start.
