REPLACING ENGINE STUCK ON VACCUUM LINES

Replacing entire engine need a diagram for the vacuum lines. Stuck there. Could someone please HELP

The vacuum line diagram is under the hood on the federal emissions decal. Any other vacuum related diagrams are in the Ford electrical and vacuum troubleshooting booklet. You can buy these used on eBay for less than $20.00 US

Find 2005 ford f 250 5.4 vacuum line diagram


The only diagram the manufacturer provides is for the AC system. There is a basic engine diagram on the emissions label under the hood.

Random vacuum whine from the engine compartment


Most likely it is a vacuum leak or if you or you have had some one working on it has crossed a vacuum line, also back on the intake and exhaust manifold and around the turbo you will have a couple of vacuum controllers and if they have cracked or broken then that as well will cause the noise. There should be a Vacuum diagram in the engine compartment use it to follow the lines, this will allow you to track down the leak, inspect all of the lines they are bad to crack . Also you should check the belt pulleys and belts to make sure that one isn't going bad. it will help to have someone to assist for tracing down the vacuum lines are or can be tedious and they can rev the engine while you search.

I need to know if all my vacuum lines are in the right spot. I would really like to see a picture of the top of the motor without air filter canister on the throttlebody.


Most vehicle have a circuit diagram for vacuum lines stuck inside engine compartment somewhere.
If yours is missing it would help someone to help you if you said what vehicle you had.

I suggest you repost the problem with the year make and model.

Alternatively, google search for an online forum for your particular type of vehicle, where enthusiasts can help you out.

We replaced the thermostat in ford f150 but heater still blows cold air

First, if the engine seems to take forever to warm up, you may have a stuck (open) thermostat. Replacing the thermostat would help get your engine to warm up quickly and maintain the proper running temperature of about 180 deg F. This would solve your heater woes.

However, if the engine warms up normally but the heater just doesn't seem to put out, check the heater inlet valve. This valve is usually next to the firewall on the engine side and is activated by cable(s) or vacuum lines. It is common to find that the valve cables have frozen, the cable ends have broken off, or the vacuum lines are disconnected or broken. Another common problem on vacuum run valves is that the vacuum diaphragm that operates the valve has failed. The diaphragm won't "hold a vacuum" meaning that it leaks and won't operate the heater valve.

If all that seems to work okay. The heater core could be getting warm coolant through it but the underdash heater air handler box has a movable door inside that is not in the requested position. These doors are operated by cables or vacuum lines---so same checkout as above.

you may need a new thermostat if its stuck open or the heater core is plugged up and needs replaced or flushed.

Replacing the evaporator


Doubtful if this needs replacing - is usually only cracked vacuum lines around this unit or under the hood, or the gas-cap is not sealing on the tank fill tube.
This unit is usually under the vehicle near the rear axle, gas tank or in the middle of the vehicle.  Check all the vaccuum lines for cracks and replace.
Cannisters don't usually go bad unless you over-fill your tank to top and gas gets into it.  Don't fill car to limit - ever!
Check all wiring around the cannister and vacuum lines on the engine prior to replacing anything.

I have 99 ford F250.The heater is stuck in the defrost mode,have checked vaccum lines all hooked up, check fuse to vacuum pump its ok, any other ideas


do you have a source of vacuum? normal problem occurs on the vaccum line from the engine to the vacuum switch of the car. unplug the vacuum hoses from the rear of the switch and feel if there is hose that is sucking your finger. if there is none, then trace the line towards the engine firewall out to the engine compartment. it could be broken that is why it is stuck in defrost mode.
