SOURCE: 2005 Ford Escape XLT 4WD - Overdrive light blinking...

The overdrive light blinking means that a fault code has been stored in the computer, this can be for many different reasons. The car isn't actually turning overdrive on and off, it is just a way to alert you of a problem. Getting the computer scanned will provide a fault code eg. P(XXXX) if you can get this code I can help you further. -Jared

Replace the motor/module on the transfercase. It has an internal short. Don't replace it. Soon you will have to replace or rebuild the transfer case and the motor.

1994 Dodge Dakota 3.9 V6 dies occasionally, does not shift to OD occasionally (automatic), frequently stumbles while driving. It sat for several years without driving. I have been driving it for three

Replace the gas filter!

That could even explain the failure to shift into Overdrive, as the engine cannot be running lean for the computer to allow it to shift into Overdrive.

Easy $10 fixya.

You may have a short somewhere in your wiring. Check to see if you did not blow a fuse. If the fuses are good it may have blown your bulbs. Make sure that your fuses are the proper amperage for the needs of the system.

1998 dodge dakota v8 magnum headlight problem

headlight switch is overheating ... replace it be sure to check the plug on the harness making sure it did not melt. the design is poor too many wires going thru one switch. It will go bad again and again especially if you do alot of night driving or use your high beams alot.and by no means use any other headlights other then factory issue.
